But for the Evansville loss, we're possibly talking about something here.

That said, if Connecticut gets in and we don't...

I just think auto-bids for horrible teams that happen to win a horrible league tourney is... horrible. :-)

Shox are in the top 40 of teams but that's not how it works. Bad news is, UNC is so bad this year, they may not get to the NIT.

          2011 please and thank you.

            no, it's because they don't

the committee will not conisder WSU with the losses to evansville and creighton - there's too many other bubble teams with barely worse RPIs and much better SOSs that don't have that bad of losses
Which 2 teams are you going to choose up above from the 5 for at-large?

I'm not going to get my hopes up for an at-large, but rather at this point that the Shockers get a home game in the NIT against a pseudo "power" team and beat the living "Tar" out of them.

Probably Team B and Team E based on their records against the Top 50 and Top 100 (10-6 for Team B and 6-5 for Team E). Team B loses some because of the last 10 games. Team E gets in because of the last 10 games. Team D did good their last 10 games, but didn't do as well against the Top 50.

Is Team B the Shockers? Who are the others?

This is where they need the teams assigned a number to keep everything unbiased.

It seems like everyone on here thinks that 'bad losses' are the primary criteria that the selection is using. I hardly think that's the case. Also, all of our opinions are biased by the fact that we all look at the bracket sites and listen to the national media. I would hope that when the actual selection committee gets together, that they would come in without being swayed by those things, but would come up with rational, well thought out picks. ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.

Ok, that was a good one

a 'pseudo' power? Hardly. But I understand the hate. ;-)

I still think my pre-season numbers were right. WSU needed 27 wins at this stage (with a loss for the auto) to get an at large. OOC SOS was horrible, and no one is going to let a team in by riding the MVC's coattails this year.

Another factor. Any team that loses to Evansville has no business playing in the NCAA's. I know UNI lost to Evansville, but they can't help it - they got the auto. You don't lose to UE and go t the NCAA's in the same year without the auto.

Win that one game and the conversation is completely different. Lose it and you have a team that you have to question their validity in the Dance.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.
