    • Is HCGM just toying with us when he talks about starting lineup changes? If GS goes in a few minutes earlier last night, instead of Felter going in first, that may have been the difference in the game. Instead of playing with a 19-point deficit, it may have been only 15 or 13.

With Stutz's fire that he has now, I would love to see him start the next game(s), and move Durley to the 4. Garrett is the only reason we didn't go into the first half down by 20-30.

In Paul's writeup this morning, he mentioned someone exploding at halftime that normally doesn't. Was it Stutz?

        • I wold be surprised if Marshall hasn't exploded at halftime with some regularity over the last dozen games.

There was no foul. Clevin kept his feet, and the guy who made the call, correct me if I am wrong SR, was either A) out of position to make that call B) Not his call or C) both.

Manisoutofhisasso sold contact but Clev stayed on his feet and hands were straight up.

Uncredibly bad way to waste a solid comeback.

A win Saturday is now a must to get some mojo back.

I've never heard Gregg that pissed on the radio. PISSED.

Bradley's maintenance team has some work to do in the lockerroom tonight.

Like 'Ref, I can't believe how little BBIQ this team has, this late in the season.

Guy on VT has the last game scenarios worked out....our game matters not, according to him, as to where we finish. Rebirds win, they're 2nd, lose and they're 3rd.

I'm not sure about that since right now we hold a 20 point tiebreaking advantage, but his work seems solid so I'm sure he's going to be right.
Gregg need not hang his head on this game. His guys played well and has won the fans back over. We were crying for effort and we got it.

The refs can shove it up their ass as far as Stutz getting mugged is concerned though.

If he had not totally embarrassed them on the sidelines, they probably would have let BU run them out of the gym.
Pay attention to what I said: "Gregg need not hang his head on this game."

He did his job. He got their asses going when they weren't getting it done from the get-go.

I don't know but they DID get going. Stop with the 20 minutes crap. They closed the delta for about 30 minutes of that game, and lost because they dug a hole in the first 10 minutes or so. It was 30 minutes of effort at an away court.

And it took him 20 minutes to do it against Egolf & Singh because...?
You are blaming the loss on Durley then?

Sorry, not happening. After shooting cold, and Bradley shooting lights out for the first 10 minutes, our players responded and they deserve credit and support coming into SIU.

              • Just my two cents. If I hear or read JT say "My teamates talked to me, telling me that I need to play like that all of the time," one more time I may beat the dog. He has been here long enough that the bulb should have gone off in his head. Yes JT it is good to play for the entire time you are in the game. Duh!

I'll tell you what, this team needs a Ramone Clemente, or an X man or Eric Wedge type of player. On the World Series Championship team our first baseman wouldn't come out of the game even when his leg was broken because "I was afraid Wedgie would beat the S--- out of me." They don't have to love you to respect you.

I could see Hatch stepping up and being that guy. Giving that kind of effort game after game, and seeing your teammates not give the same effort will wear on you.

                    • 1. Thinking Toure's defense on that guy was not very good.

                      2. How on earth could you play against a team with no post, and NOT POUND IT INSIDE EVERYTIME ?!?!

                      3. Durley is a riddle, wrapped in an enigma, in a....what is that Churchill quote?

                      4. Stutz shoots .500 from the floor in 25 minutes, with 10 shots, Murry shoots .300 from the floor in 35 minutes., with 20 shots Could we get more shots from Stutz, please?

                      5. In that scenario, Kenny gets one (1!) friggin minute. It's difficult to fathom that he is that bad.

                      6. Ellis and Murry have zero confidence; and not a helluva lot of interest, seems like.

                      7. I wonder if "Meat" would catch on as a nickname for Demetric?

                      8. Stutz fouls a lot, but he gets fouled more.

                      9. Felter was not as good last night, but he wasn't horrible either.

                      10. Getting the team up to perform is part of the coach's job, no?

This was my thought exactly a little while ago . While we don't exactly miss Clemente's stats (as our post play is deep and we are outrebounding most teams), we really miss his passion and leadership.

I'm not sure the guy is going to be Hatch next year. I mean I think he leads in a lot of ways but probably more by example than getting in your face.

                        • I have a feeling that something got going in the locker room this year about the time that second in the league was (or seemed) wrapped up. It's sort of like about that time everything other than St. Louis wasn't very important.

It wouldn't surprise me if the current crop of 18 - 20-year-olds think that you either win the league or win the auto bid - and nothing else matters. The NCAA's are all that matter and all the effort and work required to get a shot at an at large might not be worth it considering it's a bit of a long shot out of the Valley this year.

I can see where that attitude could exist in a locker room and could be awfully hard to get rid of if it ever took root. The team sure played like nothing mattered after they got to where second in the league appeared obvious and first appeared out of reach.
