Hatch's passing has just gotten horrendous. 4 t.o.'s tonight. Entry passes are abysmal, not to mention the horrible in-bounds decision at the end. i don't understand, he used to be so solid.
We WILL beat SIU at home Saturday.
My prediction of an undefeated home season has to hold....
Well, all I can guess are 2 things: 1. Toure' had played better tonight--knocking down a couple of 3's, had 15 points or something (whether he's officially out of his shooting 'slump' is debatable) 2. Toure's still a cool customer who showed time and time again last year that he's calm under pressure.
Now, with that said, I still think Graham's the guy you want or Clevin. Or better yet--drive to the basket!
I agree, I wondered why have TM take that shot! it was Clev or Graham that was hitting!
I'm just happy that we have some fight left. I was beginning to wonder if our tank was empty. Yes it was a crappy way to lose but this effort gives me some hope for St. Louis.
Maybe I'm nuts.. who knows....
I share your 'hope'... :good: :good:

Absolutely, 96. The team that showed up tonight after that miserable start, especially once Gabe Blair returns, can definitely win in St. Louis. They'll probably be the #2 seed, although they might actually have a better matchup as #3 -- #2 gets the winner of 7 vs. 10, which could be Evansville now that they've apparently awakened, and who wants that? -- and if they can take care of business in the first round, they have no need to fear Illinois State (assuming form holds for the Redbirds) regardless of who wears white. That gives WSU a legitimate shot at reaching the final, and once there, especially if the foe is UNI as anticipated, they'll know they match up well and have what it takes to win. It's just a matter of staying focused and executing, and hopefully avoiding any further injuries or illness along the way.
If both Il State and WSU win, then the main point difference between the two teams are the BU/CU series and the IN/MO series. BU plays CU to end the season for 4th place. In State plays MO State winner is tied with the BU/CU loser for 5th place. We swept both IN and MO state. Il State swept both BU and CU. The BU/CU winner will give IL state 14 points WSU doesn't have, the loser of the MO/IN state game will give WSU at most 8 points that Il State doesn't have. The BU/CU loser and the IN/MO winner will be tied and the points wash out. The UNI game doesn't really matter in this case because the difference between IL winning AT UNI and us winning AT HOME is 1 point. The 6 point difference between the BU/CU and the IN/MO outweighs the difference between the 1 point difference between a home and a road win.
The differences are:
UNI them +1
CU/BU them +16
CU/BU IN/MO wash
IN/MO us +8/7
SIU us +4
EU them +2
us +11/12 them +19.
If IL State loses to UNI and we lose at home to SIU, then we win the tie breaker. The differences between us are:
UNI at home us + 19
CU/BU away them +16
CU/BU IN/MO wash (they sweep BU/CU we sweep IN/MO)
IN/MO away us +8 or 7 depending on DU/EU game
SIU us +1 (we won on the road they won at home)
He's right. We now DON'T control our own destiny with regards to the No.2 seed. It's all about Illinois State and frankly looking at how both teams have been playing lately, they deserve it.
The reason why they would jump us in the tiebreaker points is they would have a win over the No.1 team on the road, which I believe, is good for a 20-pointer. And our lead is only 10 points ahead of Illinois State at the moment, not 20.
Good gravy......yes 103 is 10 more than 93.....my real problem is I don't know if I couldn't figure out that the 20 point difference was between UNI and WSU (not WSU and ISU) or that I simply don't know that 103-93=10.

Either way, it's beer thirty.
It's been a frustrating night for everyone.
jdmee does bring up a good point. Depending on how other teams finish makes a difference in the tiebreaker points. There's still quite a bit to be determined in that case. However, a road win over UNI will give Illinois State a 10 point cushion and we would not be able to overcome that.
Regardless, we still need to win Saturday and carry at least some hope to St. Louis.
Heading to the Arch with a 3 game losing streak would be.. eh, I don't wanna think about it.
Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

One last observation - am I the only one that is 100% sure CH didn't foul. The ball came flying out of the BU player's hand before there was contact. I watched it super slow-motion since I thought that was the case when they showed the replay, but whatever...
There was no foul. Clevin kept his feet, and the guy who made the call, correct me if I am wrong SR, was either A) out of position to make that call B) Not his call or C) both.
Manisoutofhisasso sold contact but Clev stayed on his feet and hands were straight up.
Uncredibly bad way to waste a solid comeback.
A win Saturday is now a must to get some mojo back.
I've never heard Gregg that pissed on the radio. PISSED.
Bradley's maintenance team has some work to do in the lockerroom tonight.
Like 'Ref, I can't believe how little BBIQ this team has, this late in the season.
Guy on VT has the last game scenarios worked out....our game matters not, according to him, as to where we finish. Rebirds win, they're 2nd, lose and they're 3rd.
I'm not sure about that since right now we hold a 20 point tiebreaking advantage, but his work seems solid so I'm sure he's going to be right.
Gregg need not hang his head on this game. His guys played well and has won the fans back over. We were crying for effort and we got it.
The refs can shove it up their ass as far as Stutz getting mugged is concerned though.
"His guys played well and has won the fans back over. We were crying for effort and we got it."
What kind of drugs are you taking? Prescription or illegal?
The only reason there was effort exerted in this game was due to HCGM reaming their a$$es out at the under 12:00 T/O.
If he had not totally embarrassed them on the sidelines, they probably would have let BU run them out of the gym.
Oh yea, they finally woke up (in a D-1 basketball game mind you) and played hard after that. But why did it take GM totally going off on them to make it happen?
Durley finally wakes up and goes for a double/double in the second half?
And it took him 20 minutes to do it against Egolf & Singh because...?
Don't try to put lipstick on this pig. They crapped the bed from the jump ball and can now add another loss to the record. 8)
I'm glad the Shox didn't rollover and found some fight last night, but I don't see how anybody think this team has a very good chance of winning in STl.
1. This game may finish off this team. Losing a game like this is a major morale hit, just listen to the coach after the game. Maybe they are resilient and shake it off, maybe they are just ready for it to be over.
2. One good half, one bad half - story of the season. Doesn't bode well IMO for STL where they will need 6 good halfs.
3. This team finds ways to lose games. There is no reason why they should have been in position to lose this game, but the players continue to be creative.
Maybe the Shox are waiting to put it all together for STL. That has to be the hope, but it is probably wishfull thinking.

Good points SB and the STL specifics are spot on.
Can they put it together in STL?
Maybe. Possibly. Who knows.
Expecting this team to play hard for 6 halves is like playing the lottery and needing a winner to make the house payment.
Have you ever went into a game saying "I don't know if they will win, but I do know they will give it everything they've got."
Do you have that same feeling with this team going to STL? 8)

Doc,
Right official, just didn't get to the spot in time to make the call.
To make the call from his position was not the best angle.
Believe me, it's all about getting to the spot and having the proper angle of sight.
You can question the physical capabilities of them (2 are over weight and the third is almost 60 years old) but I'm not saying anything. 8)
Being in shape is the closest I want to ever come to being an official, even a biddy ball official. No thank you the poor fellows can't win and calling a perfect game is impossible. (my comment is not about this specific game but is a statement in general)
