No, it's becoming evident that Marshall doesn't feel that a sellout or damn near sellout and a loud arena is good enough. He is taking the fan support for granted.

It was - without question in my mind – a compliment to the Utah State fans uttered minutes after the game when the Spectrum crowd remained fresh on his mind. Nothing more than that.
I agree that HCGM was wanting to pay a well-deserved compliment to the USU students and fans. However, you can easily do that without taking a jab at your own fan base. HCGM is not stupid. IMO, his jab at the WSU fan base was intentional.
To what end or for what purpose I can't say, but I believe the jab was made purposely.
Perhaps it was just lingering bad feelings about the smattering of boos the team received at the Evansville game. If so, I think HCGM would be better served to let that go and quit expending any more energy on it. He clearly has larger and more important issues to address with this team.
If he thinks these comments will motivate the fan base to become more consistently energetic and creative then let's hope it works, although I still think he is wasting his time and energy.

This program is bigger than him, IMO. For him to make a comment like that, in the heat of the moment or not, is stupid and disrespectful to us as fans. Anyone who sees it anyway else has blinders on and simply doesn't get it. He defends his team to no end, why shouldn't he support and defend the fans the same way? It's disrespectful.
And he doesn't owe the fans squat. Right now he has to worry about what is going on with his team. He doesn't have to explain anything. Maybe the fans should start showing up and actually doing what they claim to be capable of, not just at certain times.

I'm done arguing, cause it obviously doesn't do any good. I say we try and find something else to focus on until Marshall has a chance to explain himself. Again, I doubt anyone will call him out on it....but we'll see."He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. Maybe this team is a bit too dependent on the fans. The coach's job is to make the team prepared for every game, no matter what the circumstances. That's not happening.Deuces Valley.
