SuperiorBlueDiver, I for one do not need a breakdown of the game. You guys dominated us and the refs were not an issue. I see alot of our 2006 sweet sixteen team in the Aggies. We had to pick our posion and chose not to double your bigs and paid the price.

One side note, I loved the Aggies home court advantage. As you will respect ours in two years when the return game is played. Get this, if the so called BCS conferences will not schedule home and home with teams like the Shocks and Aggies then why don't the Aggies and Shocks schedule a home and home series. It's great to see teams passionate about basketball outside the so called BCS conferences.

I agree. We used to compete regularly in Football. Why not Basketball?

The officials often determine the outcome of the game by chosing whether they "call it close" or "let them play". Last night they let them play. That style of officiating played to the advantage of the winners. I'm not saying that it was not even-handed, but it worked to their advantage, with them being stronger, older, etc.

Anybody know why the 11 p.m. start, when there was a 2 hour fishing show on prior to the game. Why couldnt they just start the game at 9, which was the live show, and show the fishing show at 11?

Those were YOUR refs dude. First time we've ever had MVC officials in our building. Has nothing to do with why USU wins.

Out of all of what's been posted, that's what you're gonna come here and pick apart after a W?

The Valley assigns the officials, yes, but it's absurd to think we gain advantage because we have "our" officials. It's one of the most ludicrous and widely known misconceptions out there. No conference has its "own" set of officials. They all move around. You are correct it was our league's decision to assign them, but too actually think we were gonna get an edge in that department, you couldn't be further from the truth. And it showed.

There was some homering going on tonight but you are correct that it didn't affect the outcome of the game.

I didn't say that you had an advantage because of it. I just meant it's stupid to say "No wonder they never lose there" and thus insinuating that we have had "homer" refs for the last 187 games.

The comment wasn't necessarily directed at you I guess. It was mentioned over at your board though and it was hilarious.

Please remember this is our board, our team is struggling, and we got took to the chin again last night. Frustrations are gonna be let out. The comment I made was made tongue in cheek.

Former Shocker Bill Parcells has been quoted as saying "your are what your record say your are".

To paraphrase... you are what the score says yoru are.

Tonight the score says USU was the better team, at least on their home court.

They certainly are well-coached and very disciplined. But on top of that they play hard and with a purpose.

Still had the Shocks brought their A game they could have easily been right there.

No doubt we are grinding right now. Especially our starters.

On the positive side of the ledger was the play of David Kyles. Time to turn this kid loose and live with the occassional brain cramp.

What we have is 2 games left to try to get regain some momo and mojo going into St. Louis.
