Sadly I won't be making the trip this year. It's hard enough justifying my season tickets at this point with everything going on and my current situation. A trip to the Lou isn't in the budget this year and it's going to suck sitting at home watching.

I have yet to see the consistency within league play to think 3 wins is likely in STL. Right now I don't know what to expect from game to game with this team. But I do like anyone's chances against UNI in the championship as I think it would not be beyond league officials to influence the outcome for the betterment of the MVC.

Beyond all reason, just before the tip-off of every game the Shockers have ever played that I have watched, I believe there is somehow someway a chance that we can win that particular game. So yeah, I think that this year we have a better than usual chance of advancing to the Championship game. Then, at that point, it's ours to win or lose.

It all comes down to which team decides to show up. If it's the one that has showed up the past couple of games, the stay in St. Louis is going to be short.

If the Shox do get stuck with an NIT game, I hope they play at Koch in contrast to IBA. I'd rather UNC play on campus than at Old Towne.
Of course a lot of KU fans would want to attend so they can welcome Roy back to the state of Kansas.

Let's hope we win it all in STL.

NCAA or bust. Who needs the NIT in its last year.

It'd be nice to be able to say that you were the last team to ever win the NIT.

I think all this NIT is just people being realistic. The odds aren't in the shocks favor of winning in STL. Plus the NIT gets us a home game anyways.

Of Course I would prefer playing in the big dance, but a NIT home game against a big name BCS opponent is a great consolation prize.

But we need to finish strong, a road NIT game would really be a big disappointment.

It all just depends on how the NCAA would seed us. The higher seeds get the home games.

But yeah, if we can finish strong then I would hope we would be a higher seed for at least the first game and perhaps a second round one also.

Yeah that was my point. If we don't finish strong we could end up as a 5 to 8 seed in the NIT and that really would suck. No first round home game and little chance for a home game after that (we would have to win on the road and a higher seed that we were suppose to play in the next round would have to lose at home).

Are we certain we even make the NIT? I don't follow the NIT because, well, its the NIT. Last I heard the NIT pretty much was going for BCS schools only. Don't know if that is true or not.

I have never understood this upturned nose attitude to the NIT.

As Dan said, we've proven we can beat them.
In the last 2 seasons NIU has lost only two MVC road games (extremely impressive )- both to WSU. The game at NIU was also very close so I think there is a decent chance of a win if WSU can play them in the MVC championship game.

I agree, but we seem to have a much tougher time with the crappy teams in the league than the strong teams. Its kind of weird...
