I don't think he was in the game 10 seconds before collecting the first foul. Three of his four fouls were freshman fouls. He is late in his sophomore year, so those fouls should not be present in such numbers.

I like the fact that he posted up stronger in this game and hope he can do the same in the next game.

I wasn't able to catch the second half of the game last night so I left the television thinking "another Stutz no-show". I'm glad to hear he was able to muster some solid play in the second half against a cellar dweller. I'm thinking the coach must have 'whispered' a few instructions to the big fella during the break. :)

Until EO actually plays, shows that he belongs on a D-1 team, and demonstrates that his knees will stand the strain for a season, there is no comparison between him and Stutz.

For years, all EO has been is a dream. I'll take Stutz until EO demonstrates he can make our dreams come true.

When the Shockers play on the road, often GoShockers will not have a box score. It is quite irritating, but that is the way it is.

Problem with

It was a widely held position by the resident Shocker Net 'experts', that GS would provide the skill and scoring while EO provided the defensive presence.

At this point I am pretty confident in saying that EO in his Sophomore year, will outscore GS in his Sophomore year.

I say this because:

1) I believe EO is smarter than GS.

2) I believe that EO is more aggressive than GS.

3) I believe some of the challenges that EO faces against smaller front courts in JUCO ball will be lessened when he matches up with true post players in the MVC.

4) I believe that EO's athletic advantage over GS is comparable to a Ferrari's performance advantage over a Buick. If EO catches the ball deep enough in the post, he will simply dunk over his defender. If he learns to work his way in and use the glass, look out! The problem with Stutz is that he was sometimes clumsy under the basket. When he was intimidated he couldn't even make point blank layups. He will never be a great player because he was not consistently aggressive on the boards. Although Ehimen does not score as much he gets more blocks and is quicker and more athletic. Ehimen does not seem to be intimidated .His shooting is coming around and overall i think that he could eclipse Stutz's play before the season is over.


Garrett Stutz's consecutive scoring in 10 MVC Games:

5, 6, 5, 2, 2, 4, 3, 2, 2, 4 = 3.5 ppg avg.

Stutz could have never made our dreams come true in the big dance. He was far too inconsistent and not aggressive enough. That is why he is not in the NBA. He is clumsy under the goal when he is intimidated an he cant even make a 1 ft layup. Other than point production,Ehimen is a better player.
