Has anyone seen anything from the WSU Alumni Association or Sunflower Travel about the Maui trip? I called Sunflower 5-6 weeks ago and they mentioned they were working on a Maui trip package and the information would be announced soon. Did I miss something?

As far as I know they still don't have anything. Part of the problem is WSU hasn't gotten info on game tickets from the tournament folks.

              Sunflower Travel Trip information;

If you know Ruth Martz at WSU she was in the hospital for a couple of weeks with pnuemonia. You may want to wish her well.

Cost per adult based on two adults per room: $ 3,045.00 per adult
DAMN! So $6,090.00 per couple? Does WSU want fans to go support the team?

We booked 8 nights in a 2 bedroom condo at a 4 star beach front resort just a couple miles from the arena, rental car and round trip flights for a total of $940 per person. I'm guessing game tickets are going to cost me around another $300 per person...but still less than half of what their charging.

I'm still recovering from the fall out of my office chair when I read the costs. Holy smokes!

My wife and I booked our trip to Hawaii last week through Orbitz. Hotel for 12 nights, flight, and rental car only put us out about $3200. We'll have to purchase the "booster tickets" separately, but it's much cheaper than the travel agency option.

Just wanted to throw that out there for anybody else scared by the $6000 price tag.

Although I have yet to hear how I can get the booster tickets. Anybody heard anything about purchasing the tickets by themselves?
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

I just laughed when I saw the price of the WSU package -- I knew it would be high - but WOW!!!
Waiting a little longer to book - but have found deals for around $1,600 (air, hotel, rental car) per person on several different websites. Saving every paycheck for the rest of the year.

                        re:

Hey guys - $6k for 2 people on this trip is ridiculous. I took the wife and 2 kids to Hawaii last year and didn't even come close to approaching this number.

We had an excellent time largely because of the travel agency we used. A couple of friends of ours who are from Wichita run a travel agency out of Honolulu. I HIGHLY recommend contacting them and seeing what kind of package they can put together for you. They'll be more than happy to help their fellow Wichitans. The wife and I will be going thru them for this trip for sure.

Here's the link to their webpage:

Is it too late to get good airfare/hotel/condo deals for this tourney? Where should one start in researching this?

WSU packages along with every other university in the nation are always outrageous.

If you want to see some really crazy numbers, search on Texas A&M tour packages.

Does anyone know if you can just pick up individual game tickets on the day of the game? We are going, but the tickets are over sold at this point based on the allotment given to WSU. They are working on getting more. Tickets are $330 for the three games, and allocation is based on your SASO points.

I am thinking I might just have to buy them the day of each game.

                                Anyone know for sure?
