  • Hello Tournament Championship!

This team is going to be the first to win the conference tournament since Fogler's team.

I sure wouldn't guarantee a tournament championship, but I definitely like our chances. As long as today is just another bump in the road instead of a sign of things to come.

I'm not saying we can't win the thing, but when was the last time we even made it to the championship game?

Hey, I like the idea though! No one can fault Capitol Shock's optimism!

I second it. Let's get it done Shox.

Somebody was saying we have never one this Tourney in St. Louie. It also seemed like we only made the finals once? Yikes!!!

We better start playing better away from Koch Arena. We have two consecutive piss poor games on the road now. We need to get the mojo back.

We may vey well have to win the MVC Tournament to make the dance, especially if we don't get our effort and performance on the road turned around.

Last time was 1987 under Fogler when Gary Cundiff led us to a championship game win over Tulsa at Tulsa.

We hosted in 1989, Fogler's last year, but choked in the first round, regulating us to NIT after B2B NCAA berths.

Tourney moved to St. Lou in 1991 and, yes, we've never even made the finals. Since the MVC tourney started in '77, we've won just twice ('85 and '87).

This is the year, though. :wsu_posters:

Not only win it, but also beat the BlowJays by 40 points on the way to winning it.

Too funny. By now we all should have learned that the Shocks are not going to win the tournament. Not going to happen folks and I am the one that said they have a better chance this year than ever before.

"Are not" is probably too strong.....let me ammend that to "not going to happen unless and until our team is so far head and shoulders above the rest of the league so as not to allow any and all outside interference to affect the outcome".

So, basically, until we are Memphis, they'll take our money but that's as far as it goes.

                          Come on Doc!

Here's the deal. We beat em' all at home. We have the firepower to win it this year. Scottrade will be our home-away with all the Shocker faithful and we will win it and go dancing!

I really hope this is an exaggeration. You are certainly better connected, and maybe there are some facts and/or opinions flowing along the MVC undercurrent that lead to such a conclusion.

There is so much evidence that a successful WSU is the best thing for this league that for Elgin and Co. to do anything to hinder us would mean we are part of a grossly mis-managed conference that is running short on toes, many of them having been shot off.

The attention for the successes of 2006 and early 2007. Our baseball and volleyball programs. Maybe our basketball program was only a brief flash on the national scene, but it was a very bright flash that elevated the Valley (with Bradley's help) to heights they hadn't got a glimpse of since the 80s.

Perhaps I'm a bit naive in this regard (with apologies to Steve Shogren), but I really don't want to believe this is true, especially since there aren't any currently viable alternatives. (Without football, we're stuck.)
