By the way, I posted it in the opponent's message board page but figure I would post it here again.

The Utah State game appears to be an excellent chance to get a quality road win out of conference. Don't know why anyone would be afraid of that.
It almost sounds a little KU'ish to whine about this. It's almost as if we want to play Butler because they are the only team we can afford to lose to. Sound familiar?
Let's just hope our team is up to the challenge. Katz is right about this game. It's a good test.

Reading through some of their posts a few posters have the "little man" syndrome LOL. Some of them take everything out of context. One guy said by reading on Shockernet how someone was upset at the late start time it somehow means that WSU fans don't think Utah St is "good enough" to play the Shox LMAO....wow"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!

To me, it doesn't matter who we would have gotten scheduled with. Sucks that we have to stay up until 1 am to watch the damn thing. But maybe since we suck so much in afternoon games, playing this late will be a great time for us...."When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Better have some sugar and water too, or else your lemonade will suck!

The premise behind BB is to supposedly provide "Prime time exposure" to teams under consideration for an at-large bid.
No one (except supporters and fans) will tune in and care about the outcome.
Really...Who cares about a game played in Utah that ends @ 2:00 AM in EST? 8)
Complain all you want but we're playing a good RPI team on national tv. Yeah, it's a tough venue, but that's life.
This is what happens when you drop fudgebombs at sCUm and Drake. Sorry.
I guess the moral to the story - Lose to teams like CU and the like and get sent to Utah to play @ Midnight.
Seems more like a sentencing than a reward for being 19-4.
The committee must have recently watched Papillon a few times before making this decision. 8)
Utah State is a good opportunity. If we can win there, it will definitely open some eyes, however, if we can't beat Drake and Creighton on the road, there is no way we are going to beat them at their place - so if you are pissed about playing this team on the road, I'll give you that.

According to Joe our at large bid depends on this game
Things could change in the next few weeks, but here's my take on what right now are the three most bubblicious games of BracketBusters:Old Dominion at Northern Iowa, Feb.
Wichita State at Utah State (ESPN2, 11:59 p.m. ET)
The time and place will push this pairing under the radar a bit, and that's unfortunate. The Shockers currently reside on our "First Four Out" list despite a victory over Northern Iowa, in large part because of a No. 330 nonconference schedule ranking. Utah State (InsideRPI No. 54) can help rectify that deficiency, but only if Wichita pulls out a win. My sense is that the winner of this game stays in the at-large conversation -- the Aggies also have a win over BYU, after all -- and the loser will be left only the automatic qualifier route.Shocker Football...Alive in '95 errr 2005 errr 2025!!

I still say if we
1) Win out
2) Lose in the championship game
we can lose this game and still get an at large. 28 wins and 6 loses would be pretty hard to deny.
But the agree comes as a big if on winning all our remaining games.

But seriously this is a quality road game, something our non-con schedule severely lacked this year and may end up costing us for a bid.
In regards to the at-large, I think if we win Wednesday or at Utah State and win the other remaining games, we have a pretty good shot. Lose both and hello St. Louis or bust. Lose to any remaining team outside of UNI or Utah State and it's St. Louis or bust.
I don't really like our prospects but these are the types of games you have to win if you wanna be considered worthy of the dance.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.
