    Why?
Playing a meaningless game at Midnight EST does nothing for exposure or RPI.

The premise behind BB is to supposedly provide "Prime time exposure" to teams under consideration for an at-large bid.

No one (except supporters and fans) will tune in and care about the outcome.

Really...Who cares about a game played in Utah that ends @ 2:00 AM in EST? 8)
Above all, make the right call.

    • Let's just face it. After Drake, Butler was out. Period.

HCGM would have liked to gone back to the east coast to VCU, but if that game was to be on the U regardless, I like Utah St on the 2.

Utah St will be a great test, a great venue, and great prep for any tournament play ahead. I must admit, I liked our chances of winning better at VCU.

I would have watched the 11:00pm game no matter who it was. And I'm not on the committee.

Complain all you want but we're playing a good RPI team on national tv. Yeah, it's a tough venue, but that's life.

This is what happens when you drop fudgebombs at sCUm and Drake. Sorry.

        • VCU took it up the butt on this one. Akron with an RPI of 116? Ouch.

Yeah and they're only on the U. About half of the potential viewers.

                We should feel happy.

And for those disappointed about Utah St., we could have gotten the shaft like VCU.

                    • Hey! At least Andy Katz thinks WSU will win all in St. Louis.
The eighth annual BracketBusters begins in 18 days and the matchups of the 11 nationally televised games were just announced on ESPNU. Should make for a fun slate of games on Feb.

Hard to argue your 3rd point.

I guess the moral to the story - Lose to teams like CU and the like and get sent to Utah to play @ Midnight.

Seems more like a sentencing than a reward for being 19-4.

The committee must have recently watched Papillon a few times before making this decision. 8)

I can't speak to the exposure or not. Might help bring in some "Hatch" types from out west.

But this game is not a meaningless game from a RPI standpoint. Right now they are 55 RPI with an expected RPI of 38 (if they finish strong). From an RPI standpoint it will help (how much is yet to be determined).

If WSU wins it will improve their resume so it is not meaningless game.

From a television standpoint, it isn't very good, although still better than no TV at all. On the other hand, Utah State is a team in a 3-way tie for 1st in their conference. They may very well end up with an automatic bid into the NCAAs, so beating them on their home court would matter for our resume. Now actually beating them at their place is the difficulty, but none of these games are worth anything if you don't capitalize and win.

                            • You people are cry babies........

First off its bracketbusters, im glad most of the country wont see us in it. F-ing embarrassing. If the MWC, A10, WCC isn't in it neither should the MVC. Youre telling me WSU couldn't schedule a home and home with a top 100 rpi team every year out of one of those conferences or maybe a select few from the CAA. Come on...

Playing Utah St means with a little luck over the next few weeks that WSU gets one more top 50 rpi game on the schedule (they are currently 55 I believe). Thats what matters, not the t.v. time or if that midget and loser former coach gave 5 minutes of sub par breakdown of WSU. Seriously you think anybody not a fan of one of the teams in it doesn't look at bracket busters and just laughs?

Also Utah St at home next year will be nice.

But to be honest its not a bad matchup, better RPI than VCU but, like I said, I would rather win.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.
