P'unk kicking the ball into the student section, of course no ref saw it and Dana didn't pull him.

    The Screw at the Lew!

In the Ryan Sears and Nate Funk days, I always thought of them like I do now with UNI. Though hard nose and well coached. Now Dana has that attitude he and his program are special, it just doesn't sit well in Wichita.

I've got the same recollection. Altman wasn't in over his head. KSU was in over its head for a long time when he left.

Altman won in Allen Field House. Altman took KSU to the NCAA tourney. I think it was more than a decade before either of those happened again.

At the time KSU felt Altman was in over his head. What a ridiculous sentiment. He quit KSU and built CU up. KSU floundered.

Ricky, normally you're spot on, but in no way, shape, or form can you compare K-State's hate for KU with WSU's tepid interest with CU.

I've never much got into the rivalry thing with CU, though the last loss in Omaha got under my skin. Their team seemed like a bunch of chumps going up against a well oiled machine that kept having its gears stopped by someone throwing in a monkey wrench.

CU's a nice, small school with a generally over-rated basketball team that draws a lot of UNL fans to their games.

WSU has no rival in the Valley, and the conitnued talk of CU being a rival to WSU gives them more credibility and swollen heads than anything they accomplish on their own.

Like Marty Moose, I've had unfortunate run in's with CU fans at St. Louis as well. I will NEVER forget when we lost to them I believe in 2005 and they stood by the exits screaming and spitting "NIT" in our faces. It was very unsportsmanship like and ridiculous. I would have been embarassed if had seen a WSU fan do that.

I started hating Altman when he brought his KSU team into Levitt just after John Cooper was lost for the season.

They won on a final-possession shot and Altman, asked about Cooper's absence, said something to the effect of "It wasn't a factor, because they got everything Cooper would've given them from Calvin Thomas" (who scored around 13, I think, but obviously had nowhere near the impact on the game that a John Cooper would have.)

I thought that was a pretty low-class statement, and representative of his disdain for the Shocker program.

I wish him only difficult BMs for the rest of his life.
“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

Depends on what you mean by pretty well.

              '90-91 13-15 8th in B8
              '91-92 16-14 8th in B8, NIT
              '92-93 19-11 7th in B8, NCAA Tournament
              '93-94 20-14 T-6 in B8, NIT

Next year after he left KSU was 12-15 - which would be a program full of Altman recruits.

              Asbury then went
              17-12 4th, NCAA Tourny
              10-17 T10,
              17-12 T7, NIT
              20-13 T7, NIT
              9-19 12,

Not much different between Asbury or Altman (both were lower division programs) with about the same post season success.

              Altman Conference Record 19-37 33%
              Asbury Conference Record 29-63 32%

Asbury was split between the Big 8 and B12

Altman increased his wins each year. Asbury coaching Altman's recruits is like Phelps coaching Keno Davis's team (two preseason MVC picks) last year.

Showing my knowledge of KSU hoops, I can say this:

Altman's biggest problem at K-State was that he wasn't born in Silver Lake, Kansas.

If you know what I mean.

Are you inferring that there are people who don't hate sCUm?

I don't think that my mind can comprehend this.

Spot on. Though had Dana made an Elite 8 like Kruger he would have been fine.
