...kind of feel bad for him...seems like the forgotten man....but Gabe has really stepped up...

Aaron looks lost on the offensive end of the floor. His defense is solid and
he is rebounding but it is 4 on 5 for us on the offensive end.

Aaron played awesome defense in the first half. It was obvious that UNI wanted us to funnel the ball to him and he wasn't hitting shots. Coach played Gabe Blair instead this game. Aaron's defense was really good when he played.

He's been steady and solid on defense all year. To me, he still earns his starting spot with his effort. He'll likely never be a big offensive threat, but is JUST skilled enough offensively to keep the other team honest and make them guard him. He's a team player and an asset to our line up.

Gabe's perfect coming off the bench. I mean, how many schools in our league can say they have a bench player with the kind of skills and effort he brings?

Aaron's been great all year. Sure, we would all like to see more offense, but he plays his heart out all the time and is one of the 2 best screeners on the team.

What he does for the team is invaluable.

I suspect his minutes might have been reduced last night due the the bulk of their front line, just a thought. Everybody's minutes were skewed last night.

Adam Koch had 11 points last night and played 30 minutes, 8 more than his average minutes. Of his 11 points, 4 were scored when Aaron was in the game.

I noted also that Eglseder played 34 minutes; his average is 22 minutes.

Thought our bigs did a marvelous job on those two in particular.

Great observations...you don't think both teams poured EVERYTHING into that game? UNI totally sold out to finish us off last night and end the race. Fortunately, it was not to be. They won't admit it, and they just might be strong enough (mentally and physically) to put it behind them and move forward, but it would not surprise me one bit to see them have problems this weekend. As much as both teams gave last night, losing could have long lasting implications.

That was a BIG TIME game last night that had meaning and passion. Both teams gave everything they had. Losing would have been extraordinarily painful.

It was and is a GREAT DAY TO BE A SHOCKER!

Last night was a great game period. There were let downs and bad calls on both sides, but both teams gave it their all and put on a great show.

I cant remember the last game I attended that was like that since maybe the Valentines D Day.

Just my two cents on AE. He is best offensively in the 8-12 foot range from the basket. He took a 3 from about 18 feet and off balance and air balled it. From there he kind of dissappeared. He does great things on the defensive end and as pointed out screens extremely well for his team mates.

Towards the end of the game, Egelseder looked pretty gassed. I bet he is feeling it today.

I noticed that most of the uni starters were pretty much dragging at the end. During one free throw shooting sequence (them) the shooters arms just hung at his side and looked like he was trying to recoup. It was then that I felt the Shox would pull away and they did.

Last season, the 6th Man of the Year was O'Rear.

Certainly, Gabe will be the 6th Man this season.

Just as long as we don't pull a Northwestern.

If Aaron is ever a reliable scorer for this team some other player has fallen off the radar. He understands his role and plays it well. I don't think we'd be as good without him and I know we'd be worse if he was taking more shots.
