This happens to nearly every valley team that visits Creighton. The refs decide the game in the first 30 minutes.

Even the unbiased commentators from ESPN mentioned three questionable calls in the last two minutes that went against the shocks.

Toure's lay in where he was fouled and didn't get the and one. A time called on Creightons behalf on a tied up ball.

And a no foul called in the last 13 seconds when they had called 30 against WSU during the course of the game.

So Creighton had around 50 posessions and WSU fouled them on 60% of them? No way. The better team did not win tonight, I hope we get them in St. Louis because we will pound them.

the unbiased commentators also mentioned that durley should have gotten called for a blocking foul when he took that charge.

again, the officiating was terrible but it is not the reason wsu lost. it is fine to complain about the officiating, blair got called for a terrible offensive foul as well. i also felt like 2 of david kyles fouls should have been offensive fouls as the creighton player lowered his shoulder and initiated contact with kyles. but wsu never adjusted to the way the refs were calling the game and that is not the refs fault.

how come nobody is blaming hannah for picking up a ridiculous 4th foul? was that the refs fault too? imo the fact that he had to come out of the game for approximately 1 minute at that point delayed the late game push wsu made resulting in the team running out of time. if marshall made a coaching mistake in the game, and im not saying he did b/c it was a tough call, it was pulling hannah out of the game then. however im sure marshall felt he had to pull him since that was an incredibly stupid foul.

People, there is no fix! We played good enough D to win in spite of all the fouls called against us, (a number of which I agree were bogus).

We held our opponent to 57 points which should be good enough to win. We held sCUm to less than 33% FG and less tha 30% from 3. We out-rebounded them by 8 and they had only 8 assists.

On the other hand, we were 5-12 from the line minus Hannah. We claim to have an inside/size advantage yet chucked up 21 3s. DW played 9 minutes and had 0 points, only shot (missed) was a 3, 0-2 from the line, 2 PF, 1 TO, and no assists. If he can't score or assist or have an otherwise positive line, I'm ready to give a fast, defensive minded back up PG a chance.

We had 4 big lapses in offense today. 3 in the first half and one in the second. They totaled 15:55 minutes in which we scored exactly 1 point and the opponent scored 31 points. If you wish to deduct a couple of minutes due to change in possession, then make it about 14 minutes.

We scratch our heads wondering how these other (lesser) teams can penetrate, yet we do not do it ourselves. Our motion is slow-motion. We should be running the other team into the ground with our depth and speed. We set far less picks than our opponents and when we do, 90% of the time the defender can run through it.

What is most amazing is that I feel this way and we're 16-3!!! This team can be great -- this year. I'm not watching a group of over-achievers having an excellent year. What I do see is a team of which I'm very proud, particularly with how far they have come in 1 1/2 years (HCGM 1st year doesn't count for this group). What I do see is a team that can win, and win regularly, and have glaring blunders in those games. What I see is a team with great potential yet un-tapped. We have the offensive weapons. It IS great to be a Shocker!!

You made a heckuva lot of coaching criticisms in this post. I wonder if you can find them all for me? :) It is true, we are 16-3 and should have a fine year. No more games against Dana Altman (at least not in the regular season).

Prepare for a possible 'inflammatory' coaching criticism out of me after the Northern Iowan game though. :)

Everytime we lose, heck, even when we win for that matter, the whiners come out of the wood work and complain about officiating and/or blame the loss because of them. Today is no different than the constant whining I've seen over the past years.

Folks, get over it. We held CU to 57 points, one less than they scored at our place a week ago. We lost because the Shox did not shoot very well today plain and simple. Heck, if they make their season average of 76 percent free throws as a team, they win.

Again, please read this post. This is the last time I'm saying it. We played crappy, crappy enough for a beatdown. We could have done better with regular FT shooting and better basketball IQ.

But again, my point is, there was NO WAY we were going to win there today. There was something there that would have prevented it at all costs. Some may call it was a "fix", others "dumb luck".

I just watched the highlights on the news. As our own head coach alluded to in his postgame, there was more skin slapped in the final 13 seconds than there was in large portions of the game when fouls were called every second. Again, this is what OUR COACH said. And if you actually watched the game, you could see it too. Hell even KU fans thought so. I checked a few other Valley sites and they also thought there were some questionable officiating going on.

There was something rotten in Denmarkha tonight. You can deny it all you want. Wichita State was not going to win tonight. End of story.

We deserved to lose to Pitt, we deserved to lose to Illinois State. There is no way in hell we deserved to lose today. I'll admit when the better team wins. I'll admit when the better team that day wins. Neither of those were the case today.

just out of curiosity...How hard would it be for us to change conferences?? I have always thought that us being in the MVC has held us back from becoming a national contender on a yearly basis. Having marshall here now...I feel the most confident about his ability to get us there in this league. anyway...i think it would be great to switch conferences. Which conference would be the best move?
