  • Solid win.

sCUm suck it. Diana suck it. P'unk suck it.

Not the best second half effort but Shocks never gave up the double-digit lead after 3 minutes in. That spells domination.

Need to win in Terre Haute.
    Deuces Valley.
    ... No really, deuces.

I saw that too. I don't know if that was a good idea or not. It seemed like it allowed Creighton too much time to set up their press. It seemed to me when they did that and also slowed the game down that it took some energy out of them and they weren't playing with as much intensity.

      • The blue-blue jays only had around 7 assists which had much to do with our swarming defense. All along, I felt we would have a better inside game than them. I don't remember the blue-blue jays clanking so many free throws in times past. The Shocks are draining ours which will help us in scratching out some needed road Valley games this Season. No way N. Iowa goes undefeated this Season in Valley play. You would think our Shocks will win 7-8 home games. Thus, if we could steal about 4-5 wins on the cold and lonely road, we will be in tip-top shape. So far, sooooooo good.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

        • I sure wasn't expecting such a ho-hum afternoon. The Shocks played a decent game, but they can play better. The crowd was OK, but not particuarly great. It was like neither the team nor the crowd really needed to overly exert themselves after the Shocks jumped on CU early. The Shocks just seemed like they were in cruise control the rest of the way with CU never offering much to get too worried about.

Still, very nice win for the Shocks and one more step in the right direction.

          :good: :goshocks:

Interesting way to run more clock.
Yes, I noticed that a couple of times this year and this was by far the best example.

Someone asked about this in the Shocker Locker Room show.

Jans said that this is specifically a strategy to take time off the clock, allow our players to get in place and confuse the other team as to who is going to guard the throw in.

              • This may a bit random.... but I am wondering if any of you know if there will be a bus going to Omaha next Saturday.

                • P'allen is the most classless player in MVC history, when CU was going into the locker room after warming up before the game, P'allen turned towards the student section and grabbed his crotch.

                  • I heard that P'unk did something like that just before he got T'd up and that many thought that's why he got the T. Anyone see anything like that?

That makes the technical foul, the dropped ball out of bounds, the out-of-control plays all the more sweeter and funnier.

                          • I haven't had the chance to weigh in yet on the game, but I will.

After 5 games I think one could say this.....Tony Freeman is slightly overrated. P'Allen is not about to be 1st team, hell he wasn't in the top 5 on the court today...maybe not the top 10. Josh Young also isn't going to be on anyone's first team (or probably 2nd).

I find it a little funny....We handed CU their 2nd worst beating today....and 12 points was about as close as it was all day. Yet, we get little if any respect. Like our defense, our preparation, our intensity, our will had no outcome in the way they were able to perform.

F them. I am proud of the way our guys are handling themselves....with a steadfast resolve, a purpose, and under control.

Not exactly the direction they wanted to see their freshman from 07-08 headed. Down in PPG, up in TOs, down in steals, down in FG%, and FT%.

Maybe there is some justice out there.
