Jayskers vs. Shockers Gamethread

We seem to be shutting this thing down way too early. We need to pack them up and send them home with a solid end to remember us by.

We've gone in to "Prevent" Offense.

Damn it, Blair!

No sense giving them bulletin board material when we play them again in one week.

In Omaha, however, I want quick, 6 second offensive possessions punctuated by 3's and dunks for the final 2 minutes. Run them out of their own gym.

So MP starts whinning about the officials in chat and my response is that the refs are fine, gimme a break. (fouls were about 6-3 IN OUR FAVOR at this point) So then I somehow get blocked the rest of the game and can't post anything.

Matt, do us all a favor, don't say all Jays fans are welcome when you are lying through your teeth, instead say all Jays fans who won't dare disagree with anything I say are welcome.

This program is worse for having you affiliated with it, do us all a favor and go back home.

I posted this ban in this thread along with most of his comments on the game....then he banned a CU fan at the end that was going to start cheering for Wisconsin I think. Hes a total chump. He also was asked if he had interviewed HCGM and his reply was NO why would he...anyway it was entertaining

This game would have been a huge blowout had we rebounded worth a crap. Ah well, the game was NEVER in doubt so I guess it's no biggie.

And I know it's not a classy move, but since it was Creighton I don't care....Ellis should have gone in and dunked the crap out of the ball in the final seconds...just sayin

Well, hopefully we have the chance next weekend to do that.

A decent, but not great, effort tonight. We established ourselves well in the first 25 minutes and once again put it on cruise control. Creighton is not nearly the team MSU is, however, so our prevent offense never really came back to bite us.

The next 3 weeks are so tough. Five of the next seven are on the road, and the home games are against UNI and Illinois State. I will take wins any way we can get them during that stretch.

Indiana State is a tough, scrappy team. McKenna has done a terrific job with them this year despite injuries and off-court issues. Let's get our rebounding groove back and become road warriors for the rest of January.

I enjoyed the comment from the rookie announcer that "Man, this place is LOUD !!!!".

I wonder what he would have thought if CU would have actually made a game out of it.

It's hard to get loud when the Shox open up a quick 10 or 12 point lead and the rest of the game the lead stays between 10 and 16.

The best teams can run different offenses to fit the situation. Running some clock in half court situations is important for us to learn if we want to win big games.

I don't know if anyone else noticed but we waited as long as we possibly could to inbounds the ball. I saw 5 or more seconds tick off the clock on several occassions before one of our players even picked the ball up to inbounds it.

Interesting way to run more clock.
