I sense a meltdown

I know the conference season is still early, BUT I believe there are definitely four teams at the top (UNI, WSU, Ill St, Mo St), we're currently in second place and we've already played our road games against Mo St and Ill St. The brass ring is ours for the taking -- we need to finish no worse (and probably no better than) than second place and face a play in team in St. Louis.

I hope our team realizes what is now in front of them -- a real chance to Dance THIS year.

Winning the game at home against TT was not going to get us IN. Losing to TT at home would have definitely been an excuse to keep us OUT.

Exactly, by the time the regular season is up, Tech's win will be looked at as being so-so. Our non-con is not going to do us any favors come selection time (and yes, I am assuming the Shox will be a bubble team for the NCAA's despite our SOS and non-con schedule).

IMHO, we're going to need something like a 15-3 record in the Valley to have a legitimate shot at an at-large.

A record lke that should have WSU being a contender for top-25 - not just a team getting a few scattered votes. I think it's going to take something like a national top-30 or so ranking for an at large out of the Valley, particularly with the implosion created by the loss of SIU and CU as potential quality wins.
