  • UNI vs. Creighton

    MVC preseason #1 vs. #2.

Does Creighton get the beatdown tonight at the hands of UNI? What do you think?

  • #2
I hope they both lose. :D
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

As much as it pains me to say it, I hope Creighton wins tonight. We don't need UNI picking up a good road game so early in the season. Heck, I hope all the road teams except WSU lose tonight.

I hope Creighton loses. We don't need CREIGHTON getting a head of steam started so early in the season! I hate UNI (actually I don't hate them, just dislike them in a normal Valley rival sense) much less than I hate CU!

        Go Panthers!

The overwhelming crowd noise inside the Qwest causes a massive structural failure and ends with the collapse of the entire superstructure. Both teams unfortunately, do not make it out.

The ensuing investigation reveals that Creighton's rented facility was constructed out of cardboard and popsicle sticks. UNI fans are upset, but realize that the event, in the end, is best for the Valley. :D

After CUs stellar noncon I hope they lose. Them winning games like this right now doesn't do the Valley or the Shox any good. The lower they finish this year the better.

                Agreed.

Now that we're into the conference schedule, the goal is to win the regular season. A UNI victory tonight does more damage to WSU's chances than a CU win, especially if we lose tonight.

Since I want both teams to lose, I guess I don't care. At least one will, and as of right now, WSU controls their own destiny.

I hope I can say the same thing in February.

I guess it goes both ways. What does a CU win over UNI do for the valley? Not too much. It shows that there is too much parity and no team is really living up to expectations. I might have phrase that last sentence poorly but what I am really trying to say is 2 teams at 12-6 and a bunch of other teams at 8-10 do not make the valley look good. See last 2 years for an example.

I would hope for a UNI win. I think its in our (and the Valley's) best interest if we can get three teams to separate from the pack. So lets have WSU, UNI, and MSU get to 14 - 4, and let the 4th place team come in around 8 - 8. Maybe that will get us three in the tournament. Having the conference winner in at 12 - 6 would not be a good thing....

In two months, we will be in STL.

Exactly...there just can not be that much parity to get multiple bids into the tourney.

                          :good:

Ultimately, I agree. I typed a general response but I kept changing my mind. In the end, what I hope to see in the coming weeks is as follows:

                              (1) WSU taking care of its own business – starting with a road win tonight (very important). Forget about the rest of the league for now; and

                              (2) I simply won’t be able to stomach a CU resurrection during conference play. If I had my druthers they will get hammered from here on out.
