No "under the radar" doesn't mean that. It means the shockers continue to quietly win games by 10+ more points and then make noise in the Valley tournament when it matters.

You don't stay under the radar by winning Valley games by 10+. You sound like you just want the Shox to be a good but not great team. Sucks to be you

You will have to excuse Royal. It seems that he neglected to consult his courtmaster3104 dictionary.

what's the point right now in the season to have a bunch of media attention? what does that do? we havent proven we're ready to be the "hunted" yet. You cant go from 11-20 and 17-17 or whatever the final record was to "on the national radar". How is WSU different from Rhode Island, Temple, BYU, Army, Coastal Carolina, Western Carolina, William and Mary, UAB, LA Tech or Cornell. Are any of these teams "on the radar?" Are they "on your radar?" I'm a WSU fan, but get real they're a mid major. You won't be on the radar other than maybe a few little blips until tournament time and then you have to earn it. Use your heads.

The end result had absolutely NOTHING to do with being "on the radar", genius.

The media attention is invaluable. That you do not understand that, in no way surprises anyone here.

yea it had everything to do with Mark Turgeon and his recruiting classes and injuries... right? or maybe we got on the radar too soon and it backfired, maybe we weren't that great and the Sweet 16 run was just something special... Mr. WuDrWU... i feel like i should be saying WUUUU SAAAAAHHH to you and bowing before your great abundance of knowledge.

Yea, the media attention was real valuable when we were ranked as high as No. 9 and then tanked it. I'm sure a bunch of recruits wanted to come to WSU after that.

I will say this we need all the positive press we can get. Whether you think so or not the selection committee visits ESPN's Website. A few might read a big WSU supporter in Andy Katz's blog. So all the positive press is good, we have to continue to deliver though

In 2006 WSU caught some over-ranked teams at the right time, causing us to get over-ranked ourselves. The loss of Miller and what appears to have been some internal team issues caught up with the Shocks in Vegas and carried into the rest of the season. It had nothing to do with being on anyone's radar.

But the attention we got from that good start was much more valuable than not having received it at all.

And as SubGod already said, you don't stay under the radar very long with double-digit wins, especially at ISU or against MSU.

It helps with recruiting. It also helps come tournament time if your on the mind of the selection bozo's. And it helps with recruiting.

You're like the kid that sits in the same chair at home, with the same hat tilted the same way, thinking that somehow he has an affect on the game.

Good things aren't bad.....when will people learn this?

                            1. We were #8.

                            2. Please offer evidence to your claim that the fall from the rankings hurt recruiting. Don't forget that the class we had coming in was already set and that Tad Boyle had moved on. Furthermore, due to the coaching change there was naturally a "reset" among our recruiting targets.

Plus, i think when we got national attention Turgeon got kind of lazy, Marshall will not let that happen, he is prolly one of the hardest working coaches in the country.
