  • 4-point TT play

What's the story about not looking at video to confirm that a shot was actualy a 3-point shot? The 4-point play brough TT back to within 4 points at 75-79. The replay clearly showed the TT player stepped inside the 3-point line with one foot.

Do the coaches have to request this, or can the refs decide when to look at the video? Is this something that can be correctable later in the game, or is it like the NFL where once the next play occurs, then the play stands? I would've hated to have this game go into overtime knowing we really had a 1-point lead.

Suppose Coach Marshall had called time-out and asked the refs to review the play. Would the refs do so under those circumstances? I do not know the rules.

Are you sure about his foot? Where did you see the replay?

I saw that too when I rewatched the game. Definitely a 2 pointer.

I would also say that is one responsibility of assistants to help Marshall remember to do stuff like that. He's focused on game strategy, etc. and the assistants can help him remember stuff like that when he's focused on other things.

Yeah no kidding, his entire foot was clearly inside the stripe before he jumped into DK.

There was one ref, not sure of his name but he's done many WSU games, thats so into making fancy dances when he calls and bringing as much attention to himself as possible, he made this call. Once he made a call all night he'd do his little dance and showboat and then run as far from either bench as possible. He made that call and I'm sure since he made it he knew he was right and there need be no argument. Someday hopefully he'll figure out that these games are not about him.

I'm in sect. 123 - at the opposite end where the play occurred, and I was yelling it was a 2. I couldn't believe they didn't look at a replay.

Wasn't even close to a three.

I remember watching it live thinking there was no that was a 3-pointer. I can't believe no one decided to request a replay. That's something you HAVE to do.

That was the only blemish on the coaching staff last night.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I had DVR'd the game and he was clearly inside the black line with his foot on the white line. Not a three.

shock 21 is correct, I DVR'D the game also, it would have been a 2 pt shot even from the womens 3pt line.

In the replay I watched, Bruce and Craig said they only counted it as a 2 plus the free throw. I haven't checked the scoring play by play, so maybe it was counted as a 4.

It surprises me not one of our coaches questioned this. If we had lost by one, or if TT had tied the score ----
