Just wanted to reply to Metalkatz's allegations in the previous thread which was locked because Mrs. Marshall deserves to be defended. Metalkatz has either deliberately left out part of the story or has forgotten what happened due to his pre-game drinkfest.

I witnessed the whole thing. It was one of the early games where there were many, many open seats. Metalkatz was using 2 of his 5 seats in the row in front of the Marshall family. In about the middle of the second half, a friend of the Marshall family comes and sits in one of the empty seats and turns around to chat with Lynn (no one was using them the entire game mind you.) Metalkatz freaks out and tells the guy he'd better leave then gets up and brings down security to have the guy walked out. It was a totally ridiculous.

You are a moron, Metalkatz. We don't need "fans" like you, especially when you show in full purple K-State attire.

I figured that was what really happened. Funny how one seems to forget important pieces to the story when they are trying to make someone else look bad. I don't believe for a second that Lynn acted inappropriately. This guy is a tool and thanks Rico for the eyewitness account.

For the record, my intent was NOT to have Mrs. Marshall go undefended, its just that typically the airing of these kinds of things on message boards tends to end up very one-sided, thus the reason for locking it.

Please keep in mind that the nature of message boards tends to be that what one person views as truth or honesty or reality can quickly get viewed by another as spin or rose-colored-glasses-like or simply irritating.

It is a fine balance to judge sometimes, and on the occasions when it gets to the immature it makes me feel like I have to act like a middle school principal. Fortunately on SN that is fairly infrequent.

About the only thing I can guarantee is that I will never please everybody - a thick skin and the ability to ignore others is vital when on a message board. That being said, if you ever feel the need to alert me about a post or poster, please do so in a civil and mature manner, and whatever decision is rendered is what it is. While I am delighted to keep this board running for our great cadre of Shocker fans and guests, this board is not my life, and as such I don't spend dozens of hours on here combing every little thing. My family, faith, career, and ongoing education will always take precedence. Shocker sports for me is what it always has been - a fun respite from the challenges of the day.

First of all I am not a KSTATE fan, my wife graduated from KSTATE, so it's a house divided thing as I graduated from Wichita State. Growing up I've never liked any other school than WSU. She was wearing the KSTATE shirt, not me. I despise KSTATE but manage to still love her.

Second, all I asked was if the guy would move out of the seats that I paid a small amount for. If he would have been nice to me and just asked if he could stay there I probably wouldnt have had a problem. But the guy was having none of that and refused to move until the security guard asked him to move, and he did move one row up. He told me he was a season ticket holder and I asked him to go sit down in the seats he paid for.

At the time as I saw it, those were my seats and the guy was disrespecting me by not only sitting down next to us when there were lots of open seats, but because he was being an a$$ to me.

I'm not trying to make anyone look bad. I probably didn't handle the situation as good as I probably could, but i'm not the only one that didn't handle it right either.

inappropriately I suppose is a matter of opinion. Saying i'm the biggest a$$hole she's ever met in front of her kids count as inappropriate? i don't know, but it wasn't me cussing or making a big scene before she got involved.

At any rate I understand talking negative about the captain's wife of this big ship we all love is going to draw lots of negative reactions, whethere it be true or not. When you love something so much, you don't want to believe it's true. I hate it myself, because I love Coach MArshall and everything they have done for Shocker Bastekball and continue to do.

By the way it is totally inappropriate to show up to a game wearing another teams color's. Even though my wife grad from KSU she only wears her WSU gear to the games. Only exception is the WSU/KSU baseball game she dons her shirt. O well.
And yes Spangler I have talked to her about taking more classes at WSU. She only went to KSU because it was the only program in the state to offer her degree.

Let me see if I have this right, Metalkatz.

You were able to recognize that you were sitting in front of Mrs. Marshall. Obviously, you recognize Mrs. Marshall. You had to realize you were sitting in between the coach's wife and the coach. You were in a seat Mrs. Marshall can't get. Did it occur to you that you were in the heart of the Wichita State athletic department's seats?

Admittedly intoxicated and in KSU gear between Mrs. Marshall and the bench? And then blaming Mrs. Marshall for her conduct? You may as well get intoxicated and in between a mother bear and her cubs and then blame the mother bear for her conduct.

You were in seats reserved for those who bleed black and gold, you were intoxicated, and the only school colors showing were from KSU. You had an excellent opportunity to go to the Shocker shop and get your wife some WSU gear - at least a t-shirt. You could at least create the appearance you were trying to get along, but I guess that was too much effort. Or it never occurred to you after being in a bar for 4 hours or so.
