to an extent yes. With Soccer gaining steam in America the stereotypical "Soccer Mom" is leading kids to be wimpier by the years.

However in basketball, European players seem to have two skills - outside shooting and flopping. If you ever watch a soccer match you see half of these dudes rolling around like they were shot repeatedly at point blank range.

This also adds fuel to the Creighton Is Gay thing.

Honorable mention goes South America. Yeah they might as well be apart of Europe you know if it werent like on this side of the world. But they share similar traits as basketball players.

Sounds like some of the fans got under the skin of the refs - in the interview Marshall saie he was warned by the refs that they would issue a technical foul on the crowd if the insults continued.
