There's a difference between typical opposing fan behavior and obnoxious opposing fan behavior. It seems like the Presbyterian fan was displaying typical opposing fan behavior and being kicked out for that is rather lame. However I'm all for obnoxious opposing fan behavior being dealt with accordingly.
No question there are limits to what an opposing fan ought to do in another team's arena, but this case wasn't even close to that line.
It is even worse that it happens to the fan of a team who is way outmatched. If you can't be a gracious (and even forgiving host) when you are beating a team by 30, when can you?
"Cotton scared me - I left him alone." - B4MSU (Bear Nation poster) in reference to heckling players
"I don't think anybody should yell anything negative at our players. Period. Let's don't make it a bigger thing than it is. But I just don't think anybody should yell negative things toward our players (when) you come in on our tickets to watch our game, " said good ol Roy.
Nothing like stoking the fires. My guess is NC and Roy will find a more interesting than usual guest mat out for any road games. They'll be watching THEIR players on THEIR court on THEIR tickets. What a lame jerk.
For those who missed it, Illinois St. lost at home to Niagara yesterday, 68-76.
This is significant for us because our first conference game is at ISU. And I think we are a better team than Niagara. Getting a win there, followed by home wins over Drake and Bradley would be a great way to start the conference season!

Yeah, but they might be a little more pumped when #23 Wichita State walks into Red Bird Arena. ;-)
I forgot to mention that Niagara was without their 2nd-leading scorer (15.6 ppg) and leading rebounder (11 rpg) and as a team was out-rebounded 49-28 by ISU.
Missouri State still at 25 in FoxSports rankings, although they lost lots of credibility in the fact that Dayton jumped into the poll at #20 after "a couple quality losses to Villanova and Kansas State"?
Thinking about the Creighton game made me realize I hadn't dropped by to say hello to my MVC friends at WSU this season.
You're off to a great start! I'm pulling for ya. You must be feeling pretty good about your team. GMU is VERY young this year. We only have two upperclassmen on the team so we're going to have some ups and downs (already lost some squeakers).
Hancock would drive to the basket and be fouled with 31.2 seconds left. He sank both shots to get Mason within one point, 71-70. Cavel Witter made the second free throw with 27.9 seconds left as CU went ahead 72-70.
After Mason called its final timeout, Long would drive and Carter would be called for a blocking foul with 18.0 seconds left that led to Brad Gaston calling a technical foul on the Bluejay bench. Hancock hit both free throws awarded from the technical foul the line to tie the score, then Long made his second at the line to give Mason a one-point lead. A Bluejay turnover led to a breakaway dunk from Hancock with 2.3 seconds left.
Funny how they protect the "innocent" Deana of Valley Coaching.
