Unfortunately I do remember the last time I left early (Creighton game, overtime, Matty B game winner with 5 seconds left on clock). I was late for an appointment that afternoon (because of the length of the game with overtime and all) and just could not stay longer. Was on my way up the hill to the parking lot when I heard the roar, looked back at CKA and SWEAR the roof lifted a foot in the air.
Just for the record, that game was an 8:00pm tipoff. I don't think it got over til around 10:15. I dunno what appointment you had around 10:15 at night..
I'm not arguing with you -- but I do know it was an afternoon game and I was really thinking it was a Sunday afternoon. Could have sworn it was the Creighton game -- I am absolutely certain it was an overtime game and that Matt hit the winning shot.
Can't remember many overtime games involving Matt B. game-winners other than the Valentine's Day Massacre on Tuesday night February 14th, 2006.
I drove up from Tulsa, my brother had an extra ticket. That evening before the game, he had his first (and last?) Jeigerbomb at the original Cedar. Why did they feel the need to move that place and die? I literally picked up my brother and my brother-in-law when Matt hit that shot. It was definitely an evening game.

If WSU beats Iowa State tomorrow, it "will be time to show up" in Omaha, Nebraska for the third round of the NCAA volleyball tourney!!!!!
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Don't worry too much about the lesser attendance for the St. Mary's of the Blind teams. Soon as TCU and Tech and the Valley comes to town, things will be pandemonium again. Witness the large shocker followings in KC for the tourney. I predict another great crowd for UMKC. We have excellent and sophisticated fans! Go Shox!

A bit of bad advertising, a bit of a meh attitude amongst students, and the occasional jerk in the student section nobody wants to sit around...

Frankly, I haven't been able to get away from homework to go lately. Alcorn was my first game this season. Between all the bureaucratic crap the education department throws at us, and the sheer workload of being an art student, me and my girlfriend haven't been able to get away for the games yet this year.

No matter what, school is more important to me than basketball, but I will be at every game I can.
Deep in the heart of couldn't give a crap about college basketball-land and I miss the SHOX.

As it should be. Good for you, as long as Shocker basketball is #2. ;-)

There is the problem, dump the girlfriend and you will have plenty of time to attend Shocker games (plus you will have more money). 8)

It appears we worry to much about what others do. Just go enjoy the game and don't allow others actions effect your enjoyment. Learned long ago not to worry about things or people I have no control over. Life is good, Shockers are winning.

We drove in from Buhler that day, not wanting to waste our money by not using the tickets. Everything was fine until we hit Maize. We get into Wichita (when the storm and accumulation were at their worst) and can't find a place to eat because you either couldn't get into parking lots or employees had been sent home. Fortunately my wife has family in NE Wichita and we were barely able to get there and regroup and stay the night. Enjoyed the game but in retrospect we should have stayed home.
Yea we were able to leave right as it suddenly cleared out and all of the East/West roads had no snow on them because the snow blew off of. Coming from El Dorado we were able to stay on 254 the entire time which had no snow on it so it made the drive much easier. Surprisingly we were able to find a Spangles that was open on Hillside. All Went well until we got stuck on Hillside by Wesley Medical Center. It was a good game though.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

And you "worry" too much about what everyone on here is "worrying" about.

The reality is no one is "worried" about the horrible attendance and lifeless crowds so far at WSU basketball games, however, the fact remains it should be better - Shocker Nation should be rewarding the coaches and players for their efforts at working to improve. After all, we have a reputation to defend as one of the toughest building for visitors. We can't do that if the place if half empty.

Why can't we get the student section full? I have been coming to Shocker BB games longer than some of you have been alive? The players and coaches are doing great and I heard Marshall say he wished he could bring the students out. Those of you who do come do a great job supporting the team but you need to go out an recruit some of your buddies to come too! It would be great to see the roundhouse rockin all the time. As for the expensive seats. Blocks of those are held by companies and not true blood shock-a-holics like the rest of us! Go shocks!!!

A colleague of mine who goes to frequent Beaker games says they have now instituted an "attendance policy" on the use of season basketball tickets. If your tickets aren't scanned for a game, it has some kind of negative effect on your points in the system for renewals. Aren't barcodes wonderful...

i heard there were less then 100 student tickets left for pick-up for Thursday's game - so I wouldn't be blame the ticket office for lack of marketing
