    Stutz has awoken.

14pts, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal in 16 minutes? Are you kidding me?

Don't break my heart Stutz. <3

He's got a string of pearls going.......

In truth, he had an off night. He was 1-4 from "0 feet", playing against some big athletic frontliners. But he did everything else well.

Yes, but I think the big thing is that he's not hesitating or backing down to anyone. He's got that aggressive approach that is hard to teach. However, his execution still needs some work when being guarded under the basket, but that CAN be coached and will continue to improve.

I am absolutely elated that GS is improved compared to last year. This is to be expected as he is another year older, bulked up, and gained valuable experience.

But what we need is this same GS to show up against the T Tech's. TCU's and MO Valley teams we will face. If he demonstrates the same or better skills then heck freakin' yeah we got a center!

Dominating cupcakes is to be expected.

It's my hope that he starts getting some of the fouls called so he can go to the line. he was hacked heavily tonight and the stripes seemed content to choke on there whistles. I hope it's just the bias of officials thinking that he should be able to handle the lesser opponent and not callin it tonight, but will start callin the game in front of them when the opponents are a little more equal ,, IDK ,, just a thought

We have a serious problem here. Stutz is developing way to fast. I now can't wait until he is in the game. What in the world are we going to do, he's becoming way to good to redshirt next year. He was suppose to take his time, work on things on the sidelines next year and then give us two strong years with EO before go pro after the 2011-2012 season.

Now he is forcing one of our 4-5s to do the next to impossible and develop enough foot speed to put time in at the 3. Or perhaps change the whole defensive game plan and make Marshall play more zone!

Way to go Garrett, you already are fun to watch and have a great future at WSU and beyond.

He had 16 minutes last night. He wasn't in foul trouble. Is that about all he can give at this point, or is it time to get him up to 22-24 minutes per game?

The minutes are good. Four guys played well and we're winning.

I didn't really catch what happen to GS last night before he went into the locker room during the game. Was it his nose or teeth that got hit? I believe the tall kid on Texas Southern team used the back of his head while backing in for a shot to head butt GS. It sure looked like he was doing that alot. Anyone know?

I think that with Durley not putting in many minutes with foul trouble the last couple of games and with him in a scoring funk, they wanted to get him quality minutes and re-establish his rhythm.

Stutz put in 25 minutes against Iowa and 20 against Cleveland State. In the last two blowouts he has seen fewer minutes, but we have distributed the minutes more widely for those games.

I agree that Durley needs the minutes. Between foul problems in some games and Stutz coming on with some great games, Durley needs some minutes to remember that he can play some ball and be a force on the court.

If we can get both Durley and Stutz contributing solid minutes during their time on the court, we should be able to get 20+ ppg from the position and have both of them with reasonably fresh legs at the end of the season.

It's a long season and players wear down. There is every appearance that the Shox can be a force with either Durley or Stutz on the court. If they can both go 20-25 minutes a game instead of 30 - 35 minutes a game, they're going to be a lot fresher in February and March.

I agree, and if you look at their averages, they are getting us about 20 and 8 per game. Ellis and Blair are combinging for a not too shabby 13 and 10. I'll take that any year! Add in a very good floor leader and the three 6-4 guards, and we have the makings of a nice season.

I'm anxious to see what we can do against a good team.

The sweet 16 year we had a swagger to us. I notice it again!!! They dont seem to get too bunched up or panic when a play smokes them. They just get right back to work! About Stud, He is doing whatever we need at the time, if its scoring or rebounding or stealing the ball, Whatever!!!!!!! Great times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 :yahoo:

One of the really exciting aspects of this team is the ability of Ellis and Blair showing they can hit the mid range jumper. In previous years there was no threat at all in this no mans land. It was either a three point attempt or something around the basket. Just another weapon in what looks like quite an arsenal. I really like this TEAM. David Kyles looked really good last night. KM and DW looked more comfortable working together late in the game. The group of coaches/critics that make up our section at koch, mostly agree that Stutz is more advanced than PM was at the same stage of their careers. This comes from the observance that GS does not have to put the ball on the floor before making his move to the basket. It took PM until his senior year to accomplish this. FWIW. Have I mentioned that I really like this TEAM.

Garrett looked determined last night. He may be starting his dunk move just a tad too far fromthe basket, but nevertheless, I like it. I hope the refs get over this "he's 7-foot so can't be fould" concept.

Although he has 9 turnovers this year, it seems to be improving. Right now he has 2 steals, 5blocks and 2 assists, so together that equals his turnovers.
Through 7 games, GS leads the Shockers in Scoring and Rebounding on a per minute played basis.
