I also remember Turgeon saying after the game that the MVP of this team is the team meaning that no single player was responsible for their success. I think that Turgeon even said that every night they played someone different stepped up to get the job done.
I think this is what makes this years team so exciting. You pretty much know what you're going to get night in and night out from Murry and Clevin. Success will be determined by the supporting cast. Will someone different step up each night? There are so many that are capable. Ellis, Durley, Hatch, Stutz, Kyles, Blair. Who will it be?

      :goshocks:
That really makes it hard to gameplan against the Shox. So far, it's working out exactly like that.

        Disagree.

Regardless of who MTXE is, the worst thing you can say about his Shockernet existence so far is that he postulates outside of the group-think mentality prevalent here.

Take, for example, the "obsession noted" issue. All he's done is question the reasoning behind a lot of the Creighton bashing on here; note that he hasn't actually defended Creighton themselves. Yet most automatically make the questionable jump to the conclusion that, if he doesn't think just like them on the issue, he must not be a Shocker fan.

His biggest crime may just be that he thinks for himself. That's rare in these parts.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

Your memory is dusty. Please watch the game film to refresh it!

I have never been known for having a great memory but I remember that Illinois State only won four games in the conference that season and they were the worst team in the league.

Did I say that I've never been known for my fantastic memory?

IIRC, they had a 6'-11" forward who had the game of his life. They had some good talent; however a questionable game coach. Wasn't Chris Jans an assistanct under Porter Moser that year?

Levi Dyer - whenever he played us he put up 20/20 like every game.

                    Ahh..memories! Ryan Martin had 13 rebounds! I really liked the way he played -- hard-nosed & no-nonsense.

Yeah, the only complaint I had about him was his bad free-throw shooting. He was a definite asset in every other way.

I'm not too amused by how he's handled himself since joining. At least Dofo made me laugh. MTXE I pretty much just skim thru his posts if anything at this point and move on. I've never had a problem with differing views on any issue but I find him a bit lacking as a whole.

I have not read all of MTXE’s posts but those I have were fairly well written and reasoned. It is perplexing to me that people are giving him such a difficult time.

That said: Dofo was much more entertaining. Without question.

Yes, we were champions on that night.

But a sound argument can be made that we didn't look like champions. Most thought beating ISU would have been easier than it proved to be. Whether it be them or us, it was a close game, and I certainly remember being unimpressed with our play at times.

MTXE is the most interesting thing to happen to this board in a long while....

Let's see, rjl and the BJ wannabe paddling up the same stream.

Gee, no one saw this coming.

Sounds like a match made in the internet version of Love Boat. 8)
Above all, make the right call.
