Senior Paul Miller scores a whopping seven points and grabs a astronomical six rebounds and turns the ball over 3 times in 21 minutes in the final game of the regular season to win the conference title.

Five years of D1 ball in the game to win the championship outright and 7, 6 and three is what he tallied the last regular game of his career.

I'm a huge Paul Miller fan but people are absolutely toasting Garrett and saying that he's no Paul Miller. Just wait people, I'm predicting right now that barring injury, Garrett is going pro.

Nobody should be toasting Garrett. There isn't one indication that Stutz isn't trying as hard as he can. With his recent good performance, there is hope that he may turn out as good as originally billed. Steady improvement must continue though.

A couple differences between Paul and Garrett would be that Paul is more of an athlete. How much more will be determined by the fruits of Garrett's labor (in the gym). If I remember correctly, Paul was pretty buff.

On the other hand, I truly believe that GS is more aggressive than Paul. He wouldn't make claims like, "We will be the best team in the state by my Sophomore year" if he didn't have a little cockiness down deep. Paul was very humble and timid until the end. I don't think I EVER saw Paul show anger on the court.

In regards to that final game against ISU, it was kind of a letdown. An easy win seemed to be a foregone conclusion by everyone in the building except for ISU. They made a game of it and we didn't look like champions in the process.

If memory serves me correctly, we looked EXACTLY like champions to me.

Especially when we cut down the nets. Besides, looking like champions means looking like it for the entire season, and we did that and then some.

Only an absolute moron would say we didn't look like "champions" the night we put up the banner.

Whether we lost that game because we had somehow found out it was a meaningless game or won it by 65, we were CHAMPIONS.

But a sound argument can be made that we didn't look like champions. Most thought beating ISU would have been easier than it proved to be. Whether it be them or us, it was a close game, and I certainly remember being unimpressed with our play at times.

Champions have a knack for winning even when they aren't at their best. Complain all he wants, WSU still won that game.

Also, not all programs put all of their focus on meaningless games. Some teams like to show up when it matters. Like the NCAA basketball tournament, or say, the MVC Baseball Tournament Final. I can understand if certain people around here are not accustomed to this.

We did......what Capitol Shock forgot to mention (because he might not have seen the game) was that PM commanded double coverage for almost the entire game....something that GS has yet to experience, but hopefully will ....soon!

I was at the game and while I don't remember double teams on Miller the entire game I do remember Kyle Wilson leading all scorers on the court with 18 points, Sean Ogirri with 16 and PJ with 10. Even Ryan Martin scored more than Miller that night.

I also remember Turgeon saying after the game that the MVP of this team is the team meaning that no single player was responsible for their success. I think that Turgeon even said that every night they played someone different stepped up to get the job done.

I think this is what makes this years team so exciting. You pretty much know what you're going to get night in and night out from Murry and Clevin. Success will be determined by the supporting cast. Will someone different step up each night? There are so many that are capable. Ellis, Durley, Hatch, Stutz, Kyles, Blair. Who will it be?
