The confusion of him being legit may result in him not being a WSU fan, but follows them enough to know what he's talking about. You know what I'm talking about.. the one or two fans at WSU games that wear opposing team hats/shirts.

His defense and concern for WSU-sCUm is indeed perplexing. I think he may have some form of dementia.

Maybe he is the guy sitting in the middle of the student section when I was attending WSU in a Creighton shirt in the middle of the CU-WSU game (quite a few years ago). I guess he was a Creighton grad but attending WSU at the time as well...something like that. That was the start of my hatred towords CU...the guy got everything he deserved from me and more. Just glad WSU won the guy was almost ready to take it to the parking lot by the end of the game. I had ALOT of fun pissing in his cheerios....that is why I still love doing that to CU fans to this day.

I'm sorry I wasn't able to get my point across to you. I tried to make it exceedingly clear for all to understand. I must assume that many who commit this act of which I criticize, would be hard pressed to understand my complaint. However, I can assure you that many Creighton fans don't. Keep trying to "convince" them of a rivalry. They will continue to sit back and enjoy the compliment.

No, your message came through loud and clear. You think we're making asses of ourselves and that we should lay off the Creighton rivalry talk to somehow save our dignity.

But apparently you don't get it. My point is that this behavior is normative in a sports fandom atmosphere. There is no need to change it. What you suggest is totally antithetical to the sports fan paradigm. It doesn't matter what their real opinion of us or our school is, and the behavior on a fan message board would hardly be taken as a true representation of personal behavior by any reasonable person. Do reasonable people dress up in matching color schemes and critique 20 year-old kids for every minute mistake they make? We don't do any of this because it's reasonable. Being a sports fan, a real sports fan, is all about being unreasonable - in the proper context, of course.

And, may I add, you failed to answer my question. Why do you care? Does the behavior of Shockernet embarrass you? I know this all started with a rather innocuous two-word phrase, but why did you feel the need to use that phrase? What's wrong with some healthy rivalry, even if it is one-sided? I reassert that it won't be one-sided for long once we pound Dana's boys into the floorboards a few times in a row. Remember Ghandi's famous quote: "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."

I do hope the forthcoming response will address my question and speak to my text, and hopefully do so without resorting to insults. I don't want to write you off as a troll, but I will if need be.

There are many Catholic shocker fans, I see them at every game. I don't think someones hate for Catholics does anyone any good here. IMHO, let us move on without this foolishness!

I don't dislike Creighton, I just want to beat them like I do everybody else. Maybe a little more because we need another team to lead the Valley since the Bluejays don't do well in the Dance.

I also like Creighton fans who I communicate with. However, I can't say the same for a Creighton writer. I'm trying real hard for that not to generalize to a disdain for their team and university. I know they had nothing to do with him buying himself that job. I read a lot of Rivals and Scout boards. I've never seen anybody like him.
