In Kansas, the cliffs are not that tall and jumping off is fairly safe. :D

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

is anybody else feeling queasy, like maybe now we will lose the next "x" number of games because of this tread? maybe i'm just being too superstitious.

If "x=0," I'm OK with it.

We'll have a good season. Place # 3 in both the conference and tournament, and will win two games in the NIT.

I predict the Shox will play 25 more regular season games.

Win the home stand, split TCU/TTU, beat NDSU and we're looking at 10-2 going into Valley play. Call it .500 for the Valley going in to our last four games prior bracket buster (Evansville twice, InSt, and MoSt) which we win (20-8 ), win bracketbuster (21-8 ), split Bradley & SIU (22-9), not playing on Thursday in St. Louis, anything can happen. I don't think this is unreasonable. 11-7 in the Valley, NIT bid, unless we win the Valley tourney.

For real on the Seton Hall karma. They were not a good #9 seed.

They were an even worse #10 seed....

Call me crazy, but I firmly believe we beat both TCU and Tech. No, it won't be easy, but I think it's not only possible, but probable. We're at HOME, and this isn't the same team that lost to UMKC last year!

I think by the time we get into the conference schedule, we still only have 1 loss (Pitt).

As for the rest of the season--the Valley is wide open, and it's way too early to have any real idea. The Valley teams all know each other so well, that a lot of the stuff teams are able to do in the non-conference just won't cut it. Creighton might look bad right now (yipee!) but you can be sure they'll turn it around at least somewhat and be very, very tough during January-February.

I see T Tech is 7-0...I don't know who they have played...But that might be our toughest test so far.....comparable to Pitt except at home

Well, you are right I think--it'll be a battle. However, so far they've not really played a lot of quality opponents (kind of like us a little) so their true level is not clearly known. I think someone said they play TCU also, so that might be a good measuring stick for them compared to us. They are a Big 12 team, and just fighting it out in that pretty stout conference makes even the last place teams tough for anyone I would think.

It'll be a battle, but one we manage to win somehow I think. It'll be time to protect our house!

                            Tech has home wins against:

                            South Dakota 88-49
                            Texas A&M-CC 66-59
                            Oregon State 64-60
                            Northwestern State 94-75
                            Lamar 77-54
                            Samford 74-53

And a road win over Stephen F. Austin 63-61.

They play Washington at home and TCU on the road before coming to Wichita.

According to Pomeroy, Tech's best win is a 7-point home victory over TAM-CC, who lost to South Dakota, who's only D1 win is TAM-CC.

So basically, they have yet to play a quality opponent.

We should learn a lot about them tomorrow night.

Unless we play poorly against UMKC and TCU, I'm expecting a win against Tech.
