    Stephen Bardo's Email

I appreciated his comments. Don't care too much that he didn't realize Hatch was left handed; and while I am glad that Stutz made the 3's, not sure that's where we need our 7 footer.

With that said, I think we need to encourage guys like Bardo with some positive feedback.

He has a website that you can google, as I did, to get the email address if you doubt its authenticity. I get the feeling that he would welcome positive comments.

FWIW, I believe Mr. Bardo is a friend of the Beggs' and perhaps went to school with their kids. I'm tempted to think we may just be on the receiving end of some "media bias," but the fact is that his compliments were accurate and appropriate; generally, we don't get that.

in my opinion it shouldn't matter that Hatch is left handed. you gotta be able to go to the hole with both hands if you're gonna go. if Hatch can't make a right handed layup it's a problem. I was also a little upset he tried to go left when he was already on the right side. In that respect I agree with Mr. Bardo.

If Stutz can knock down the long shots consistently, then let him. If he starts missing too many, then keep him in the post. But his long shot can be a dangerous weapon if used effectively, and it'll make the big men go out and guard him, therefore freeing up the lane for mismatches.

Needless to say, I thought the commentating crew did a fantastic job, they had good praise for us, and I would love to have that crew back anytime.

I was sitting on that end of the arena. I believe had Hatch went for the right handed layup he may have been blocked. He correctly switched to the left layup and used the rim to keep from getting blocked. He blew the layup, but in my opinion he made the best choice.

You may be right there, I know he had a defender trailing him. You probably had a better look at the whole play seeing it live than i did seeing it on tv. If that's the case, i'm ok with that. But my point is IF he went to the left side because he knows he can't make a right handed layup, that's not a good excuse in my opinion. He had a good game last night despite the missed layup

Hatch has made enough right handed layups that it isn't a problem.

I think he looked back at the defender a little too much going up to the hoop, which made him miss the layup. You gotta keep your eye on the target.
