Very impressive win by Weevils over Crowley's Ridge College. Made CRC's loss to Ecclesia Bible College earlier this year look very mild in comparison.
88-61, Shockers.
“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'”
I understand Doc's mentality, but I do NOT expect any upsets here. Our guys will easily take care of business.
Last year it might have been different, but our guys have been through some battles and let teams (UMKC comes to mind) who had no business beating us beat us, but I would like to believe we've learned from our mistakes.
Everyone is focused on Pitt, we are down 2 PGs, this is a DII program that was good last year and has a successful DI head coach that has brought in a lot of new pieces and they destroyed the opposition in game 1 (and I know that was a small school to say the least). Their size (height) is almost the same as ours, almost unheard of when playing a lower division school.
I just don't think this is your average DII program and if they aren't getting our full attention now, they just might by the end of the game.
I kind of have the same feeling about it being a trap game. I sure hope the players don't feel they can just walk on the court and win. Sounds like this DII team deserves some respect and the Shox will have to play hard. No question Arkansas Monticello will be pumped and ready to go, we have to match the intensity. IF we do that we should be able to win somewhat comfortably but if the team lets up....who knows.
That said I'm gonna say we have too many weapons offensively and the boys play a fairly complete game defensively (I hope):
Shox - 78
Monticello - 63

:goshocks:
I don't think Doc is predicting an upset...especially given his prediction. I think he's just warning everyone that this is the type of a game that sometimes spells trouble for the best of teams. Shox should definately win, but it is possible they could struggle some. This team, on paper, is better than Newman.
