  • Arkansas-Monticello Game Thread

It looks like Demetric will not play, so Kenny is going to get a lot of work today. I hope that we continue to improve, and look better.

I wasn't expecting Williams to play. Let it heal as well as it can and get him back for Pitt on Monday. Hopefully this leads to some good experience for Kenny though.

Call me crazy, but this game screams trap to me.

Everyone is focused on Pitt, we are down 2 PGs, this is a DII program that was good last year and has a successful DI head coach that has brought in a lot of new pieces and they destroyed the opposition in game 1 (and I know that was a small school to say the least). Their size (height) is almost the same as ours, almost unheard of when playing a lower division school.

I just don't think this is your average DII program and if they aren't getting our full attention now, they just might by the end of the game.

Certainly, stranger things have happened. Hopefully the players take this game seriously and are ready to play tonight. If not, they could be surprised.

              Thinking the exact same thing.

I have a hunch A-M will actually make the trip over and guess what, even dress and play the game.

I'm not going to try and make them out as the next UCLA but they do have a bunch of transfers who either played JuCo or D-1 ball. For the majority, it's not like their first game out of H.S.

WSU still needs to do what they do well and in this case that means feed the bear, aka, Mr. Durley. 8)
Above all, make the right call.

                Trap

It certainly has the makings of a trap, but Marshall can see that too. If things are tough in the first half it should wake the guys up as well; on the other hand, if WSU takes a cue from the opener and comes out strong, the Shocks could easily break away early and then just need to stay awake.

Remember, when Chaminade beat Virginia and Ralph Sampson, it was (for all practical purposes) a home game for Chaminade. Even a quiet crowd at CKA will be a little more than A-M is used to seeing.

All that said...if we don't win by 20, I'll be disappointed.

I think there is still enough competitive spirit in our team to beat these guys by 25.
