I'm thinking about adding some grades to the player's ratings for each game. I know we've decided in the past that if a player's rating is in the 0.500's, that is worth an A, 0.400's is a B, etc.
So here's what I'd use.
Code:Prouty Rating Grade 0.567 or more A+ 0.534-0.566 A 0.500-0.533 A- 0.467-0.499 B+ 0.434-0.466 B 0.400-0.433 B- 0.367-0.399 C+ 0.334-0.366 C 0.300-0.333 C- 0.267-0.299 D+ 0.234-0.266 D 0.200-0.233 D- 0.199 or less F

It's probably because those with the higher ratings spend more time on the floor, so their ratings have more influence on the team rating.Comment

I have still been unable to locate any play-by-play stats that include the substitutions for the Northern Iowa game, so until otherwise noted, the stats from here on out exclude that game entirely. That means my prouty for all games will differ from the actual for all games.

Something in the calculation doesn't translate well between individual and team results. Maybe it's the Winning % being included. Perhaps one gets a truer picture of accomplishment without it.
Example on the Individual Game side: Stutz and Williams were the only two who had higher than team ratings. We know their limited minutes did not skew the team results to look higher than the average of the other players. Hannah and Durley's minutes/rating should more than compensate for them.
Example of All Games: Only one player has a higher rating than the team rating.
I guess the Prouty system works for what it takes into consideration, particularly in comparing player's game performance. However, I would question any coach who would start a player who has a D+ rating this late in the season and last among all regular players. People may take that statement however they wish.Comment

The four starters that lead all players in +/- for the year are the four worst +/- players in a game against the 0-13 last place team in the league.
