im4wsu, would it be possible to put together a points-per-40minutes that factors in fouls? So that if a player fouls at a rate that would only get him 25 minutes, that's all the scoring he gets for 40.

Clearly, Stutz is our most efficient scorer and rebounder. But I'd like to see it adjusted for fouls.

As a coach, I think I would want to maximize my points by allowing my most efficient scorer to foul out, provided most of his fouls are in an attempt to prevent a score and his defense isn't atrocious.

I've used the stats through the Utah State game so they can be compared to the graphs above.

I've determined for each player how many mintues they can play before getting their 5th foul and then multiplied those minutes by the per minute rates for rebounds and points. Here are the results in tabular form:

Stutz is the second rebounder at 8.0 in his 29.5 minutes (disregarding Felter and Mayes due to lack of playing time) and the fourth leading scorer at 13.6.

Of the top 5, only Stutz is unable to play 40 due to foul. Supplementing his minutes by using Blair for 10.5 minutes, the team points would be 80.7 and team reabounds would be 35.8; compared to actual of 69.3 and 34.8.

Eliminate 1/2 a foul from each game and his line becomes 10.0 reb; 17.1 points in 36.9 minutes.

Right now he's averaging 7 pts, 4.1 reb in 15.0 minutes and 2.6 fouls.

You're right, maybe Marshall should consider playing him more minutes even if he has a couple of fouls to use up at least another 1.4 fouls worth. In theory, playing until the 4th foul would put his stats at 10.9 pts, 6.4 rebs in 23.6 minutes.

I'm happy Hannah's season doesn't end, because this game was not indicative of his wonderful play this year.

Durley had 8 turnovers. I thought hannah had more than two, but that's what the stat sheet says.
