Well, monster, give him a break. The NCAA clearly isn't capable of explaining its own actions in any plausible way, so somebody has to try.

Having said that, though, wouldn't you think that taking $700+ is more serious than an old paperwork glitch, and that it should be punished more severely rather than less?

Not with the Keystone Kops in charge of Kollege sports, apparently.

I would agree that Wall's problem would seem to deserve a stronger penalty, and it sounds like PS's question is worded to the NCAA asking them for a comparison explanation and I hope that they try to give an explanation that makes sense. Don't necessarily expect it but I hope they try.
