Strong possibility. My apologies to the Zamboni driver.

With the shooters CU has, if they go with a 4 guard set, some Valley teams could be in trouble. I was not overly impressed with our defense of the 3 Saturday night. If we can't defend the 3 any better than we did against Newman, this may be a long season.

Carter out 2-4 weeks with a slight tear of his MCL.

That is to bad, I guess that is better than being a season ending one. But this will likely hurt CU and thus the MVC RPI.

So Creighton is weaker in OOC play, which hurts the MVC's RPI & reputation and therefore hurts the other nine MVC teams, and stronger in Valley play, which also hurts the other nine MVC teams. Sounds like Creighton to me. The silver lining is that CU won't get an at-large invite from the NCAA.

Boy, you've got us pegged. The plan was for our senior leader to get injured just to screw the other Valley teams. Do you have a tin foil hat?

The problem with our plan is that we had to risk a player's health. Who knew we could get roughly the same results by simply failing to turn in documentation confirming a player's amateur status?

If a player's health was the issue, why bring him back in 2-4 weeks? Will the tear be completely healed in that time?
(http://orthopedics.about.com/cs/knee.../mclinjury.htm says Grade I MCL Tear: "Most athletes miss 1-2 weeks of play." and Grade II MCL Tear: "The pain and swelling is more significant, and usually a period of 3-4 weeks of rest is necessary.")

I question the long term effects of returning to play so soon. http://www.ucsfhealth.org/adult/medi...reatments.html
On average, it takes six weeks for a MCL injury to heal. The initial treatment for most grade 1, 2 or 3 MCL tears focuses on reducing the pain and inflammation in the knee while immobilizing the knee to keep it stabilized.

                  Logic failure.

"Sounds like Creighton to me." = Creighton has a history of doing the same.

"Who knew we could get roughly the same results by simply failing to turn in documentation confirming a player's amateur status?" = Not in Wichita State's history.

I know you're emotional about the temporary loss of your player, and came to Shockernet only to see us talking about it, but please think things through a little more before you lash out with posts devoid of reason.

Let me know if you need me to hold your hand through anything else.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

I'm just happy it appears to be less serious than it might have been. Hope he doesn't come back too soon and make it worse.

I agree. I don't mind giving Creighton fans a bit of a hard time but I would hate to see a player return too soon and have long term problems.

Even though the odds are against it and I don't think it'll happen, I'm still hoping that Creighton can get an important non-con. win against a Dayton. It's happened before to Valley teams were not supposed to win and even at the bottom of the conference. That's what happened in 2006 with ISU against Indiana, etc.

                          This.

At least DJA thinks we are an NCAA caliber team this year.

                          Thanks DJA.

I have to laugh, in their chats, they talk about CU, WSU and NU. At least it isnt a rivalry. One of them does mention Koch as being "insane loud".

I'm reading their chat recap. Matty didn't know how juco players can go D1 after just one year.
