The thing that bothered me the most was Durley going back to his old ways and being a black hole that wasn't focused. Everytime he touched the ball it was Durley time... time to forget everyone else is on the court and take it to the hole. Its like watching one of those high school all star games where the only pass is to inbound the ball.

Many of the players had that mentality last night (women too)--"I want to show everyone what I can do" which in actuality is kind of the way the event is billed for the fans. If 1/2 of those shots JT had put up had gone in, we'd all be talking about how aggressive and confident he looked. Unfortunately, the fact that none of them did paints a different story.
Not that I was particularly impressed with his performance, but I'm also not overly concerned. As we all know, it's the long haul that matters, and as lackluster as his performance was last night, I think his attitude is much, much different from 1-2 years ago from what I've heard. That will pay dividends as the season unfolds.

Pretty much agree with Sub, but I don't think Hamilton really had the opportunity last night to show us much.
Blair was okay, will be a solid 4, but I expected more from him for some reason.
Ellis got his share of rebounds last night. Ellis can not decide if he is a 3 or 4 yet, and he needs to learn to finish when 5' or closer to the rim.
Kyles is good all the way around, more polished, and tougher, good shot. His little star is starting to glimmer.
Murry was slow getting started last night, but he will be fine. He needs to get his shooting percentage up though.
Durley looked like Durley of old last night, but my brother kept saying it was because of Stutz guarding him. Hope he puts his game face on when we start our games.
Stutz looked better, played bigger, better defense, tougher. Boggled a couple of balls, but he will be okay. Looked as good or better than Durley I thought.
Richardson is a shooter, didn't take long to recognize that last night. We will need his touch coming off the bench. His body is D-1 ready.
Hatch is getting his touch back, could tell by his form. We can use his toughness on defense too.
Manigault - Need to correct that in recruiting forum. He is fast, and those long arms are going to cause problems for other teams. I like the way he drives the lane. A lot of potential here, needs to work on not turning the ball over, and his outside shot.
Hannah is just a gem of a point guard. Real good timing when going for a basket. Yes, he has to jack up some shots sometimes, but he does make most of them though.
I agree, Kyles will be hard to keep off the floor. Do you pair him with Hannah and Murry, or do you pair him with Manigault and Richardson?
I would think the latter because of his experience of 1 year under his belt, and to round out the talent on the floor at the same time (driving, pull up shots, outside shots, etc.).
We have quite a bit of depth this year, but I still feel we will be hurt by only having a 6'4" small forward (3 position). This is where Coy would have benefitted us.
I think Williams redshirts, and Hamilton is still a question mark yet for redshirting that will be answered in the next few weeks.

I am not seeing much excitement about WSU basketball in the community at-large (I'm not counting SN). I don't know if this is a product of the economy or just low expectations after last year. After seeing this team last night I have lowered my expectations for the season.

Pot, meet kettle.
It's Paul Suellentrop......not Sullentrop.
PS I've been guilty of the same more times that I care to mention.

The gang of mine are in a new location after six years in 118. Still same row (30), but now in 122 straight up behind the Shocker bench. The verdict on the new location - SWEET!
