KD owned Toure' tonight. It wasn't until the second 15 minutes that I even noticed Toure' on the floor.

Blair looked like he can handle the PF position and Ellis looked about as good as I've seen him.

Stutz still seems to be a project. Missed a few shots he should have made and too many fouls.

Clevin was definitely the smaller senior schooling the taller freshman KJ. Given that KJ had 5" on Clevin, he showed almost no outside game and Clevin gave him fits when he'd put the ball on the floor.

Richardson had a good outing. Smooth outside touch, handles the ball well, and what you'd expect from a new freshman defensively.

JT shot to much and he didn't have his touch tonight.

I will have to see more of Hatch's new shot to tell if it's made a difference.

      Hamilton was a non-factor tonight.

If Kyles can translate what is being said about his play tonight into a game situation, I bet we see Kyles and Murry in the starting lineup as our wings. One at the 2 and the other at the 3.

Kyles and Toure are too good to not have both start. If that makes any sense. Coach was talking about playing Toure at the 3 and Kyles as the 2 so I wouldn't be surprised if that happens. The one thing that had to happen in order for that to happen was that Toure must become a better defender.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

I second that motion. Hannah, Murry, and Kyles all on the court at the same time is looking better and better. Especially in Valley play where everybody seems to go with a smaller, quicker player at the 3.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

So DK and TM both start with Hannah at point. Off bench comes KM, TR, and GH?

I guess I can see that. Two outside shooters for a dribble penetration PG with probably Stutz and Blair?

I think Ellis starts at 4 and Durley at 5, but agree with some that Stutz outplayed Durley tonight.

Stutz looks much more comfortable in his frame, lighter footed, and will get that mean streak I hope.

Garrett did add a goattee to his chin so he may be at least trying to look a little tougher!

The real surprise was the Women's team. Saw more than I expected. They played well together, moved the ball nicely, and can run.

Jessica Diamond looked very good. She's one very confident freshman. Chynna Turner, another freshman, will be tough to handle inside. Of the other new players, Morgan Boyd looked solid.

I know it's early in the season, but these gals looked like they really enjoyed playing with each other.

Anyone know who the recruit was that coach was talking with? (it looked like a dad and a recruit) They were visiting during the women's scrimmage.....

The highlight video is up at goshockers.com already:

"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!

I gave a lot of thought to not commenting at all....but stupidity reigns supreme so here I go:

I thought Murry was the 4th or 5th best player on the floor. I am not sure if that is a good thing or not.

RDR and I will not be happy people if the Shocks are a poor free throw shooting team yet again this season.

I suspect RDR and I will not be happy people.

                        David Kyles was really good.

Kenny Manigeault is going to play, and play a lot but unless he learns to shoot he'll never be in at the end of close games. Nobody in the Valley will guard him outside of 5 feet.

2 months ago I didn't think there was a chance in the world Richardson would play this season. I may be wrong. We will need his shooting touch.

No, Hatch will not make All Valley first team. In fact, if he makes WSU's first team we are in big, big trouble imho.

As good as Ellis looks at times, I still don't think he gets it. Nobody takes as many bad shots as he does.

I don't understand those that think Garrett wasn't good. He is a different player and totally outplayed JT.

I hope JT was ill or something.

Gabe Blair left me wanting more.....a lot more.

Hamilton looked a little lost and Williams didn't play. Mason Felter is a pretty salty walkon and is probably better than his dad. I think we will have to go with 10 players and hope nobody gets hurt.

As the Shockwaves article said, two recruits tonight. Evan Wessell from Heights and a darn good player from Georgia, Malcolm Brogdon.

Anyone think we can have too many 6'4 guards that can defend and drive the lane?

How about ones that shoot well over 55% from the field?

Brogdon is a player. One that would benefit WSU greatly.

Too bad only 4100 showed up to impress him.

Remember, everyday is a recruiting day. Get out and show your support. The next level is coming, but we can miss it.

Give those tickets you can't use to a friend, or donate them to Big Brothers Big Sisters, or Boys and Girls club or someone.

16,400 showed up in Lawrence to help woo 4 of the top recruits for next year.

Im not sayin, I'm just sayin.....
