Most people will be forgiving of Morningstar's transgression, even as bad as a DUI charge is, because... from all appearances, that we know of, this is his first offense. "That we know of" is the operative phrase, with this being KU, and all.

The real question is, "What will the punishment be as a result of the 'Fisticuffs Fiasco'?"

Is Morningstar going to be the fall guy to take heat off of everyone else? Is he the sacrificial lamb? Is it going to be, "Take one for the team?"

Will it be punishment based on principle or will it be situational punishment, that is handed down?

Will it be punishment during the season, or after the season? Well, I just wonder? This is KU, after all.

Oh, I forgot, there is a multimillion dollar contract that needs to be protected.

Nah, that will not be a consideration. This is an upstanding program that at all times operates ethically and above board. (Wink) (Wink) (Doggone eye twitch)

    Let's see, I have a feeling...

He can make an example of Morningstar, cause the kid will shut up and take it. He doesn't need Morningstar, and subjecting Morningstar to disipline will not hurt recruiting.

            +1

Not everybody drinks, parties, and [blank]s for sport during college.

BTW... why in the heck is there a thread this long on SN about player discipline for a program that has nothing to do with our own. Dur...

Because 'Boys will be Boys', and it really doesn't matter if they are basketball players or not.

I could have had a DUI every single week almost when I was in College.
(BTW, I have never had a DUI, and haven't drank for several years now).

Boys will be boys is a stupid comment when you deal with as serious an issue as alcohol and driving a vehicle. It kills people. If you wish to say that you were an immature kid who had a brain that hadn't developed yet, that's fine. That is what parents and coaches are here for. To lend discipline to the situation. Don't rationalize bad behavior. Still, I agree that the discipline has been handed out and the situation is over.

Just heard that Markieff Morris was involved in a car accident last night while driving Scot Pollards vehicle...

This is the same Morris who shot a woman with a BB gun last year...

Sounds like someone has unfairly targeted this fine young man and student athlete.

It isn't fair when a great kid from KU is being singled out and profiled like this......damn the man!

"Long story short, I sold a car I didn’t need anymore (my first car when I got an NBA contract, actually) to a guy on the KU basketball team. He needed a car, and I needed one less car. (two actually, but he couldn’t afford the other one, he’s in college!) He paid me blue book value for the car, and immediately told the appropriate people, who verified, since I am an alumnus of KU. Completely legal transaction. Actually complained that I charged too much!"

How exactly is he a weasel for defending his reputation against Kevin Keitzman, who actually apologized later on the air for his behavior during the show?

Scot didn't do anything wrong. Now, Markieff on the other hand has a record of consistent stupidity that almost defies belief.
