I made a call to att for info on U-Verse. They do not offer service in my area of town, and said they have no immediate plans to change that.

In my town we went thru that for years with Cox. We had some crappy little cable provider because our mayor was a complete idiot and when that company went under after 5 name changes we were without for about 5 years and stuck with going to dish. It wasn't until we built a new middle school that Cox came out to service the town and most of us switched. My family was fairly pleased with Dish who we'd had for most of that time. We started with DTV and were not happy. I don't know what it came down to for them to go with Cox but they've been fairly happy and I have no complaints.
