My problem with this preview in Lindy's is that it's very CU-heavy. I know the CU guy wrote it, but it seems like a love-fest to me.
Also, Osiris listed as the #19 small forward in the nation? Did he switch positions?

Here are some quick notes about what Lindy's says/predicts about our non-conf opponents...just thought it would be interesting....(hopefully I'm not breaking rules as I'm just paraphrasing the articles)
Fairleigh Dickinson :
- 2008-2009 Record (7-23 overall; 6-12 in conference - tied for 9th)
- Has a new coach this year - Greg Vetrone. Worked his way up from the high school ranks 2 years ago. Has been an assitant for past 2 years.
- Predicted 11th in the Northeast Conference
- Returns 3 starters from last year including leading scorer 6' 3" G Sean Baptiste (16.3 ppg, 5.9rpg)
Pitt :
- 2008-2009 Record (31-5; 15-3 in conference - tied for 2nd)
- Predicted 7th in what should be a little bit weaker Big East
- Returns only 1 starter from last year 6'3" G Jermaine Dixon (8.4 ppg, 2.0 apg)
- Has a pretty highly touted freshman in 6'9" F Dante Taylor (top 30 recruit). He's expected to step in place of DeJuan Blair.
Alcorn St :
- 2008-2009 record (6-25; 4-14 in conference - tied for 9th)
- Coached by 2nd year head coach Larry Smith
- Predicted 5th in the 10 team Southwestern Athletic Conference
- Returns 2 starters from last year including leading scorer and defensive specialist 6'3" G Troy Jackson (20 ppg, 4.7 rpg) He was a first team conference player last year.
Texas Southern :
- 2008-2009 record (7-25; 7-11 in conference - tied for 6th)
- Coached by 2nd year head coach Tony Harvey
- Predicted 9th in the SWAC
- Returns 2 starters from last year including leading scorer and 2nd team all-conference player 6'6" G DeAndre Hall (13.8ppg, 4.0 rpg)
- Did not win a single non-conference game last year
SC Upstate :
- 2008-2009 record (9-21 overall; 8-12 in conference - 8th)
- Coach Eddie Payne has been at USC Upstate for 6 years (109-99)
- Predicted 10th in the A-Sun
- Returns 3 starters from last year. They did lose their leading scorer, but return 2nd leading scorer 7'3" C Nick Schneiders (9.5 ppg, 6.1 rpg)
Cleveland St :
- 2008-2009 record (26-11; 12-6 in conference - tied for 3rd)
- Coached by Gary Waters (57-45 in 3 seasons at CSU; 228-180 overall)
- predicted 4th in the Horizon
- Returns 2 starters from last year, but lost their leading scorer. They do, however, return 1st team all-conference selection 6'1" G Norris Cole (13.3 ppg, 2.5 rpg)
UMKC :
- 2008-2009 record (7-24 overall; 3-15 in conference - 10th)
- Coached by 2nd year head coach Matt Brown (18-45 in 2 seasons)
- predicted 9th out of 10 in the Summit
- Returns 3 starters, but did lose their top 2 scorers from last year. They lost 2 of the guys that killed us the last 2 years....Dane Brumagin and Reggie Hamilton! Top returning starter is 6'6" F Spencer Johnson (10.7 ppg, 6.6 rpg)
- Interesting note: They do have an incoming freshman by the name of Kirk Korver....yep you got it....ANOTHER ONE!!!
- Interesting note #2: Transfer from Evansville...Jay Cousinard...will be elidgible this year.
TCU :
- 2008-2009 record (14-17 overall; 5-11 in the conference - 7th)
- In his 2nd year with TCU they are coached by Jim Christian
- Predicted 6th in the MWC
- Returns 3 starters from last year. They lost leading scorer 6'8" Kevin Langford but return 2nd leading scorer 6'9" F/C Zvonko Buljan (12.3 ppg, 7.8 rpg). He was also named Newcomer of the year.
Texas Tech :
- 2008-2009 record (14-19 overall; 3-13 in conference - 11th)
- Coached by 2nd year head coach Pat Knight
- Predicted 12th in the Big 12
- Return 4 starters from last year. However, they did lose sharpshooter 6'3" G Alan Voskuil. Their best scorer returning is 5'11" John Roberson (13.9 ppg, 6.4 apg).
ND St :
- 2008-2009 record (26-7 overall; 16-2 in conference - 1st)
- Coached by 2nd year head coach Saul Phillips
- Predicted 6th in the Summit
- Returns only 1 starter from last year's NCAA tourney team...6'7" F Michael Tveidt (9.8 ppg, 3.3 rpg)
Possible teams we could face in Kansas City:
Texas :
- 2008-2009 record (32-12 overall; 9-7 in conference - tied for 4th)
- Predicted 2nd in the Big 12
- Lost AJ Abrams, however, they do return 3 starters and have pretty good newcomers to throw into the mix. The leading scorer returning from last year is 6'7" G/F Damion James (15.4 ppg, 9.2 rpg).
- Jai Lucas (transfer from Florida) will be elidgible this year.
- They have the nations #1 prospect in 6'3" G Avery Bradley
Iowa :
- 2008-2009 record (15-17 overall; 5-13 in conference - 10th)
- Predicted 11th in the Big 10
- Lost leading scorer Jake Kelly when he transfered to Indiana St
