Lindy's preseason ranking for the Valley (written by the Creighton beat writer) has the Shockers in 3rd place.

Was it by the beat writer or Matt Perrault? He said, I think I remember correctly, on the rivals website that he was writing an article for Lindys and one other magazine.

I was told it was not by Matt, but by the beat writer. I don't have his name in front of me but my correspondent gave me a name other than Matt. He brought the rag. I don't think Matt would of gave us 3rd!

Matt had said that he wrote an article ranking the recruiting classes of each school. And you are right, he did say it was for Lindy's and one other publication. Bet we are like #10 on his list....LOL

Pivovar is a CU alum. He has been Altman's and Rasmussen's embedded minon at the Omaha World Herald for years. Don't know if he played baseball.

My source said Pivovar went to Nebraska-Omaha in the 70s.

My problem with this preview in Lindy's is that it's very CU-heavy. I know the CU guy wrote it, but it seems like a love-fest to me.

Also, Osiris listed as the #19 small forward in the nation? Did he switch positions?

I still believe the national media doesn't know the "smaller" conferences well enough to rank players. No MVC players in the top-100. That's disappointing.

Yeah, it appears CU heavy, but it wasn't TOO bad overall. The part that was CU heavy was that d-bag Matt Perrault's article about the recruits and newcomers. Man...talk about a man crush on that Bock kid. He takes up about 90% of the article with that recruit. He throws a couple small bones to a few other schools....but not even a nod to any WSU recruits....not surprising. Although...maybe I missed 1 sentence about a WSU recruit as I didn't waste my time reading every word....but I don't think I did.

I don't know about last year but Rivals has this year's bottom of the Valley like this:

                        7th: InSt.
                        8th: Drake
                        9th: MSU
                        10th: Evansville

They are working their way up. Stay tuned.

Other than that article MP wrote about recruits the rest was OK. I was surprised to see us picked 3rd and Piv did make it SOUND like anyone other than UNI and Creighton shouldn't really bother showing up.
