There may be some questions, but I don't know enough about the Athletic Department to give him a grade. I don't mind when people who don't know announce their opinion but when they give grades when they probably don't know, that is taking it a little far.

While I gave him a D, I have faith in him to learn the job. He apparently is good at raising money.
There are a few little snafus that continue including late roster updates on the website, and few snags on the new field at Eck.
He seems to be one heck of a nice guy...
Upcoming big challenges:
-- Answering the football question
-- Keeping Lambo and Gregg at WSU
-- Positioning WSU to move up to a better conference
-- Adding additional sports for both men and women (Swimming, Lacrosse, Soccer, Hockey, Field Hockey ???)
-- Looking and planning for a replacement for Stephenson when/if he retires within the next few years
-- Growing the amount of donations for WSU athletics
Current minor issues:
-- Learning from the JC/Gene-Gregg fubar and negative press which resulted
-- Learning from Jody's basketball issue and the negative press which resulted
-- Maintaining NCAA controls
-- Looking to open a state of the art women's volleyball facility that'd hold approx 4-5,000
-- Positioning WSU to host NCAA games at IBA which results in national name recognition for the Shox
-- Opening an athletes dorm on the WSU campus
He took over an athletic department in very good shape. As JS made the Shox even stronger, I'd like to see ADES do the same.
Peace...
I'd like to know where shockernetters stand on the issue.
In just the past few years, the athletic complex at WSU has really improved (right at the BCS level--or better).
Another issue--student athlete housing. Even though our athletic facilities are pretty sweet, the athletes need a place to lay their head at the end of the day.

... No really, deuces.

Here is the original proposal for the athletic village. I might be wrong, but I don’t think that it includes living quarters
check out slide 14
Athletic Venues:
– Baseball Stadium and Practice Fields
– Tennis Facility and Outdoor Courts
– Indoor Track Facility and Throwing Events Area(s)
– Other Outdoor Facilities
Here is the NCAA rule on Athletic Dorms
16.5 HOUS ING AND MEALS
16.5.1 G eneral Rule. An institution is required to apply the same housing policies to student-athletes as it
applies to the student body in general. During the academic year, the institution may not house student-athletes
in athletics dormitories or athletics blocks within institutional or privately owned dormitories or apartment buildings
(when the institution arranges for the housing) on those days when institutional dormitories are open to the
general student body.
I don't mean to sound like a know it all, I just thought I would give my two cents. I have studied that OSU issue a lot.GO SHOCKERS!!!

If this doesn't get resolved, someone should be held responsible.
Discuss.
If it were my regime, heads would definitely roll. And if they don't, all eyes will be looking towards the head head, i.e. Sexton. The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

It is amazing how many bonehead things have happened under Sexton. If he himself doesn't oversee the most important sports at WSU, I would think he would atleast have a "right hand man" do it and report to him. What exactly is his job description as an a.d.?Marge: The plant called and said that if you don't come in tomorrow, don't bother coming in Monday.
Homer: WOOHOO! Four day weekend.

Absolutely inexcusable.
Hiring the good Dr may have looked like a nice feel good story considering the Sexton heritage @ WSU, but it's one thing after another.
I'm not getting into the Coy deal (there is a lot more there than publicly disclosed) but this latest deal is beyond comprehension.
Here's a good tip - Spend less time smiling and shaking hands and more time managing the department.
Geez. 8)Above all, make the right call.
