SB is absolutely correct. Yeah sure, the MVC represented in 2006. What SB is pointing out is the lack of consistency. The MVC is not synonymous with 'traditional powerhouse/powerhouse conference'. The MVC is respected as a mid-major, but until we start getting 2-3 teams in the tourney year-in and year-out, we won't get over the hump.

I'm afraid the BCS has it so no other league will ever get over the hump. If you're in a non-BCS conference, better plan on doing it like the Zags or Memphis (without so much cheating).

Wow, what a bombshell. Thanks for keeping up with that ground-breaking news.
I just like reminding everybody what you are really about - which is hijacking any and every thread. I mean look at the position you took - CU deserved a bid - bet that hurt when you typed it.
Do you really think I care what people think about what I do on VT? You said that like you made some earth-shattering revelation. You sounded about as stupid as saying "We landed on the moon." or "We made a nuclear bomb". You come off as slow and behind. It's kinda like if I, for no apparent reason at all, shouted out.. "remeber this SB is aka 'Divergence'of VT."

And how did I hijack this thread? What in the hell are you even rambling on about? You're totally lost..

Lost - what did I lose? I gave my perspective, some agreed with some of my points, some didn't.

Here is the "Baller" argument - MVC is great conference because they have sucked the last 2 year but they have been great in the past and therefore they must be great again - well how do you argue with that type of simpleton argument.
You lost the point when you had to resort to rambling jargon that has nothing to do with the point were discussing. Basically, you hijacked a thread. Kinda ironic, isn't it?

No, Divergence. That isn't my argument at all. You're diverting and missing my point. Reread what I wrote a day ago very slowly. It's really simple. Try and find the moral of the story again and see if you can get it correctly this time.
        Deuces Valley.
        ... No really, deuces.

And just like VT he is taking personal shots at SB for having a different opinion from him.

You sounded about as stupid as saying "We landed on the moon."

By the way...go ahead and whack each others brains out. It does have some entertainment value during this boring time of year.

                I wholeheartedly condone it!

Anyone want a piece of me? Just kidding.

Those are just observations, not attacks. I'm not shocked that you can't tell the difference.

By the way Einstein, who sent this thing off-topic again?

The last 3 schools from the Valley to do anything worthy of respect (WSU, BU, SIU S16s) have all dropped into relative mediocrity and it's been a few years. That doesn't get a conference any respect. The torch carrier for the Valley seems to be CU, but their one-and-done appearances in the NCAAs isn't going to get the league any respect.

Memphis being a consistent national player gets respect for CUSA. That respect may not be deserved by the entire league, but the entire league gets it.

The Valley either needs one or 2 teams (any teams) consistently getting some national attention (top 25 or 30) or needs a consistent team to get any long-term respect.

Half the league clustered between RPI 50 and RPI 90 gives the league a great overall RPI, but doesn't provide a lick of national respect or even exposure. I'm not surprised to see an article leaving the Valley out of the top 10 conferences.

I have to agree Aargh, the school who considers themselves the flagship of MVC basketball because of all their NCAA appearances, hasn't done anything that anyone is going to care about. Their best showing in 20 years has been 1 first round win...I think? However, anyone outside of Omaha would consider SIU as the basketball program carrying the Valley.

So in conclusion, I couldn't really care less what happens to the Valley as a whole as long as we continue to improve.

Actually that's not true at all. The league has consistently hurt Memphis in their bids for high seeds in the NCAA's. The league is slapped all over the place come tourney time... and it's true.

Not true Fever. Memphis was a #1 seed in 2006, a #2 seed in 2007, a #1 seed in 2008 and a #2 seed in 2009. Calipari took over at Memphis in the 2000-2001 season. It took him five seasons to turn them into a national power. However, it was not until after Marquette, Cincinnati and Louisville left C-USA to go to the Big East after the 2005 season that Memphis really started having their success. Considering that information you could actually make an argument that playing in a weaker conference actually helped Memphis's seeding because it made their overall record so good.
