Fridge had great talent. The bounce pass between the defenders legs for a WSU layup is highlight reel stuff. Too bad he never grasped the team concept and the system. He was the "cancer on our team" that Mark referred to.

This past year, during a radio broadcast there was a topic on the best transfers and I was surprised Mike did not mention Fridge. He went way into the list, including players that barely made it off the bench. He never mentioned the guy that almost average 10 assists per game.
I am checking the stats as you suggested. I find that Fridge (according to the 2006 - 2007 Shocker Basketball Guide) had a total of 169 assists in the 2003 - 2004 season for an average of 5.8 per game. Admittedly, that was the highest assist average since Joe Griffin averaged 6.0 in 87 - 88 and before that you had to go all the way back to Warren Armstrong's 7.5 in 67 - 68, but 5.8 is truly quite a ways from almost 10. His turnovers nor his turnover ratio are in the guide, but as I recall, he did have a fairly high turnover ratio.

I do find that he had 2 games in November of 03 with 11 assists each. That tied him for 10 for single game assist at that time.

He was in my opinion, decent, but not among the best.
