First, some here (not me) never thought JT would be a junior at WSU. Probably a lot more didn't think they'd be reading an article in the Eagle regarding how upset he'd be by the lack of effort/intensity/knowledge of incoming, quality freshmen during pre-season pick-up games.

JT, though, seems like a natural progression to be a leader on the court, after last season. He learned his lesson about effort, so he can guide the incoming freshmen to the right attitude. Hannah should also be more vocal, and I imagine Toure would be also.
I think this incoming team has a chance for postseason play, and that some of the players on the team are adamant about it.
It seems like Manigault is all that was advertised, and that Hamilton is better than advertised, and a nice surprise. I am looking forward to hearing more about them, and Richardson and Williams too.

WOW! I feel bad about mentioning CM comments. I did not mean to create any problems as CM was nothing but positive and upbeat about the new recruits. He was just giving an example about leadership which he feels is very important for a team.
I am sure Coach is very capable of educating these young men in what is expected in the Shocker program. Just thought it was interesting that he feels really strongly about leadership on this team as he and assts. can't do it all.
The talk was actually on leadership in life, not just on a BB court. He is an amazing speaker and has no problem getting his point across. I am sorry if I offended any of the posters or definitely any of the players. I am sure Coach will be more than capable of expressing his feelings towards your play in the near future.
Let's all think WIN! Go Shocks!

No problem
You haven't the slightest cause for concern, sck. As some of our posters, especially the chronic complainers, seem to forget at times, Marshall has been doing this for a while now, and very successfully.
As a result, you can take it to the bank that if he didn't want the word to spread about veterans reporting to him how the games were going, he wouldn't have said it. He wants it to happen, and he wants it known.

When I said Post season, I meant something other than the 2nd tournament down from the Big Dance. It was nice the guys got to play, although I am not really a supporter of 'spread the wealth' tournaments like we played in.
If you can't make the top 96 (97?) teams, then I don't think you deserve a post season. Sorry, I am Old School.

Really, any tournament outside the NCAA is pointless. It was all about experienceInfinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan
RIP Guy Always A Shocker
Carpenter Place - A blessing to many young girls/women
ICT S.O.S - Great local cause fighting against human trafficking
Wartick Insurance Agency - Saved me money with more coverage.

JT's growth is interesting. In the beginning he thought that his talent and athletic ability would get him through as it had in HS. He found out that wasn't the case but it took him a while. Once he ditched the lazy attitude, maybe Stutz gets an assist for pushing him a bit here, he showed he can be an effective post in the MVC. He can score, rebound and even block shots at times down in the post, but can't be ignored by the defense when he steps outside.
Marshall has said that he expect on and off court leadership from his returning upper-class players. I'm guessing it'll fall to Hannah, JT, and Hatch. Maybe even some of the underclassmen, just don't have a feel for the team chemistry yet.
