i.e.: lol, A.J. Hawkins. I guess he thought the Valley was a joke, but we had a conversation and I think he went public with this. He stated: "I can score when ever I want, but I didn't come to Wichita State for that, I came to play defense, when I am called to score, I'll take the game over."
A.J. can't really hoop! Foreal Foreal! (My opinion!)"Prediction is very difficult, especially if it is about the future."

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

My point was totally missed.
It is not Coach Marshall at all. There has been nearly 40 D-1 players to come from Wichita in the last 10yrs.
What needs to happen with the program in order to attract CL and State players?
CL and State players mean more ticket sales....
and as far as AJ he is a good athlete, as far as in transition. He can finish.
Jack on the other hand moves crazy with out the ball, base line, catching lobs, pops out for the 15-Footers, and can hold anyone on the floor.
What must the Shocker Basketball program do to keep cl at wichita state?D-FISH #11

Hey Wannabe, You haven't been out to the "Round House" this summer to see the long lean and more athletic recruits we have and the improved the returning veterans. As for AJ, he was a great disapointment. He was not a good shot from the outside and drew a Charging Foul about 75% of the time when he took it to the basket. Coach Marshall and his Staff are the hardest working staff I seen. You have to remember the former coach left the cupboards very empty. I think the Shocks will win
20+ games this year and contend for the Valley title
and Greg will be "Coach to the Year" in the Valley!

i have actually played with them my cowboy friend. i am in florida and have been in DC, AL, GA and NYC doing basketball camps, but will be back in Wichita next week to continue.
All seem nice. The kid from Alabama takes alot of shots but cant seem to knock them down. Jerome is a beast. He likes to dunk and bang. I hope he rubs some of that off of Garrett. South Carolina kid Managult, is a beast, very long, athletic, can bounce, and shoot, handle the ball and defend, yo, he should be starting, if he isn't then there is a huge problem.D-FISH #11

Personally, I'll admit that I don't know Jack about Crowder. But if he had been ready to play D-I ball out of high school at the level of any solid Valley program -- not just WSU -- he would have done so. That he didn't tells you he wasn't regarded as ready by those recruiting for such programs. Two years later, after playing for as fundamentally sound a coach as there is anywhere, he did land an offer -- but at that point WSU wasn't looking for a two-year 6-4 forward, even a local one; instead they were busy signing a 17-year -old 6-4 wing who reputedly CAN shoot, and almost surely has a much higher upside at this point than Crowder does, partly because he'll be around to keep improving for four more years instead of two.
Nothing against Crowder, but you can bet that if there had been a high school kid from Wichita better than the guys WSU signed this year, Marshall and his staff would have been all over him. And you don't need to worry about boosting ticket sales at WSU -- how many local kids were a key part of that long run of sellouts that ended this past year (and will be resuming shortly)? Winning is the answer to all attendance questions, regardless of where the players originate.

It is easy to excel in High School, not so easy in D-1 ball.
