Your message particularly resonated with me. I had my brush with cancer 12 years ago and I got lucky or the good Lord blessed me or both.

My thoughts are with you and your lovely wife.

I want to scream with joy for this. I'm praying everything goes well for you from here on out. This makes Matty B's shot look like a routine lay-up in comparison.

Have fun in Paris, and be sure to try some "real" (non-pasteurized) cheese - the good stuff.

That is great joy to me. I will pray that she can get the help she needs and can come through this bad time.

I understand what you are going thru as a older Shocker fan I lost my wife 6 years ago to lung cancer. I don't bring this up as a downer for this board, but as "Shokman" everyone on this board back then was able to just get my mind off everything for awhile and it truly was a lifesaver.

I haven't come back to the board like I used too, but never think that all you true Shocker fans don't make a difference in someones life. Like I said don't post much, but I still love to read all the exchange.

            GO SHOCKERS!

That's excellent news. It's GREAT to hear some good news about someone with cancer, as it seems these days most of what you hear is the opposite.

Good luck and thanks for sharing!

                        60,

You have more friends and prayers than you realize.

                        60's wife,

                        WIN.

A story I love to hear retold anytime and I think would be appropriate here...

This guy's walking down a street when he falls in a hole. The walls are so steep he can't get out. A doctor passes by and the guy shouts up, "Hey you! Can you help me out?" The doctor writes a prescription, throws it down in the hole, and moves on. Then a priest comes along and the guy shouts up, "Father, I'm down in this hole; can you help me out?" The priest writes out a prayer, throws it down in the hole and moves on. Then a friend walks by. "Hey, Joe, it's me. Can ya help me out?" And the friend jumps in the hole. Our guy says, "Are ya stupid? Now we're both down here." The friend says, "Yeah, but I've been down here before and I know the way out.

When things look tough and you don't think there is a way out, remember your friends. Even your friends at Shockernet.

Well, I don't think I can do what the friend did in Dr Wu's story. I can do what the priest did: offer a prayer.
May God bless you (60) and your wife.
Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive. (Mt 21:22)

                            60,

I can relate to your experience somewhat. Two weeks after witnessing that debacle in Las Vegas, I was diagnosed with colon cancer and was scheduled for surgery three weeks after that. Even though there was a lot of gloom and doom on this board, it did help to keep my mind occupied on, for lack of a better word -- LIFE.

I too identify myself as a 60's Shocker.

Best of luck to you and your wife in May and stay positive

:yahoo: WOW! :yahoo: WOW!

We are leaving shortly, but June and I simply wanted to take the time to try and thank all of you for your heartfelt good wishes, for sharing your similar personal experiences, and for your pm's as well. She (and admitedly, so did I) broke up more than a few times reading them, but it was a most positive thing.

From near and far away, the fact that Shocker fans are the best in the land has been expounded upon and they are noted for perhaps being rather vocal, but certainly supportive of their team.

Both unquestionably, Shockernet fans are even more vocal, most supportive, and the very best of the best.

:good: You are the greatest! :yahoo:

Now that we are on the road to winning a damn National Basketball Championship, let's do it!
