I, for one, hope that no more announce leaving. I like this mix. Does it seem we haven't had a lot of luck with transfers over the past few years. The last transfer that worked well for us that I can remember was Kyle Wilson. Phil T. and Hawk bptj showed flashes, but I don't feel either really lived up the their hype (the "hype" not being their fault).

I'm satisfied that Both Reggie and A.J. made what they believe to be the best decision for their situation and I wish them well.
My feeling is that if the staff can fill both spots with quality players, they will do so. Maybe a combo guard (1-2) and a swing man (2-3). Hopefully, at least one will be a freshman.

No one is ever shown the door, they just present the 'facts' of the current situation, and the player decides for hisself.
Looks like Coy will be getting more minutes right away next season, which is okay with me since he can hit outside shots.

Considering he started most of the games this season, and his leaving the team guarantees his D1 career is over, I highly doubt his departure was sought.
That said, I also doubt they went out of their way to change his mind, especially considering Marshall's previous comments of wanting to coach players who desire to be here (not to mention AJ's performance vs. Hatch's down the stretch).
AJ did what AJ thinks is best for he and his family. I wish him all the best. The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

The thing about it is that if the lines of communication are completely open, and neither player or coach has alterior motives, a transfer out of the program does not have to leave feeling pushed out. This possibility exists even if it was originally the coach's decision. There is certainly a way to make this happy and ensure all sides are happy with the end result.

I want to keep Marshall whether he "pushed a player out" or not. Are you kidding me??????????? These scholarships are for one year, and one year only. If you have a year-to-year academic scholarship and your grades are all D's and D-pluses, do you think you have a chance in hell of getting your academic schollarship renewed? Does that mean you were "pushed out"? You people amaze me sometimes.

I am not one of those fans that drool over a transfer but honestly I think that Coy will be better than Hawkins. I was not ever stunned by Hawkins' game, he had lots of talent. I just don't think he fit into the system very well.

There might be one more leaving.
