jdmee...are you actually trying to counter my point with the 3 players other than Josh Carter? If so, that's a pretty bad arguement.

I never compared them to WSU...so that's a fight you can have with yourself. The question was whether MT was on the hot seat at A&M.

You can compare whatever you want with Bill Self...knock yourself out...You're right that Bill had a better win pct. in conference and overall those 2 years, but he should have...KU had more talent, or are you saying they didn't?

      Dan,
MT never coached Acie Law...If that's the guard you're refering to. DeAndre Jordan was a whole different problem...but you're right...he's tearing the league up right now after his one amazing season at A&M.

Can we all just get this back to Gillispie and UK?

The question I countered was not if MT was on the hot seat. In no way do I think that and if he is then A&M is going to fall into the basketball wastebasket. A school with the name and tradition of a Kentucky can fire the coach after 2 years of an NCAA birth and NIT birth, but an A&M can't fire the coach after 2 years of NCAA births (both with a win) and expect to have many people lined up to take the job.

You were countering Molly's assertion that wins in the first couple of years are based upon the cupboard left by the previous coach. You contended that MT was not left a full cupboard. 4/5 top scorers having played for the previous coach does not sound like a bare cupboard. You also contended that even tough the cupboard was not very full MT has won more then Self. I just was pointing out how silly that statement is. Yes, Self was left probably the prettiest cupboard out there, but MTs cupboard was not as bad as you were making it seem. There are not many coaches out there who would complain about the cupboard being bare when your top 4 scorers are from that very cupboard. In the second year even.

and a reminder...i like turg a lot, but to a degree in EVERY coaching change, some of your record will be affected by what you have left behind to work with...some do better than others.

I believe Self had a lot of holes to fill when he took over at KU. He had some good SRs but after that there wasn't much. I think he had some decent incoming Frosh but I'm not positive. I know there was a lot of criticism towards the previous couple of recruiting classes from Roy. And that was even before he left.

Still, most of what MT has done has been with BG recruits. I'm interested to see what he does in the next few years when they're all his. Lets see if he holds himself back on who he can recruit since aTm isn't KU...

In no way did I mean to criticize coach Turgeon. There is no doubt the program is in much better shape when Turgeon left then when he came. A coach Marshall would not have even answered the call in the state the program was before Turgeon.

The state of the team was not at the level when Turgeon left as what we as fans, nor as coach Marshall has even stated, wanted it to be in. I would think even coach Turgeon would have to agree with that statement. I would like to think that Turgeon would have wanted coach Marshall to be contending for Valley titles as soon as he walked into the door.

I have no problem rooting for A&M, I also have no problem rooting for KU, so call me strange.

Turgeon made very critical recruitng errors in his last couple years, which to me why he would decline the OU job, then the next year belt to A&M. He just knew because of his errors that he headed for another rebuilding job at WSU, so in essence he took the easy way out and belted for the next BCS job.

                      Thanks Cold...you still know me.

It's good to see you haven't changed either. Your still the same loud mouthed, dumb, front running, internet tough guy trying to make up for some life deficiency that's an embarrassment to your school's fanbase you've always been.

As you might be able to tell Turfin, folks are still bent about the complete rebuild that Marshall inherited. At least it looks as if the foundation is about done drying so the bitching should slowly subside.

It's okay. Turfdin only shows up when his meal-ticket gets discussed. His bond to Turd is not totally dissimilar to the relationship a newborn infant has with his momma's nipple. Even hint about the nipple being taken away and the  begins.
